Growing up, all Erevan wanted to do was become a blacksmith and work in his father’s smithy, the Enchanted Forge. But sometimes fate has a different plan.

After a tragic mistake, Erevan finds himself transported to the work camp in Altheria. To the nobility, it’s an island-bound rehabilitation complex run by a powerful warden and staffed with short-tempered guards. To the inmates, ‘Alty’ is really a massive, city-sized prison.

Thrown in with criminal humans, dwarves, and other races, Erevan must learn to navigate the island’s complex social system, as well as survive the sanctioned duels—the warden’s method of managing the convict’s anger and aggression.

In Altheria, Erevan learns new smithing skills and forges unexpected alliances. He also gains the attention of the shadowy Thieves Guild, who may have a plan for him both inside and outside of the prison’s walls.

When disaster strikes and all that the young elf has gained is in danger of being lost, will he rise to the challenge and embrace his new destiny?

This was a new narrator for me and I thoroughly enjoyed their voice acting. The story kept me engaged with its high fantasy and I can't wait for a book 2.

After reading Pivots' Whisper of Iron series, I had to search out his next series. Quite a bit different than WoI with much more intrigue and potential plot directions. Really enjoyed the RPG buildup, with it being detailed but not onerous to follow. Excited to find out more!

This is going to be an awesome series. I can not wait to see how this one developed over time. I really like how the MC takes what would have been a life destroying situation and makes the best out of it. Very much like the count of monte Cristo.

elves, dragons, dwarfs, and humans so far. a cool take on the mc being a lowland elf slowly rizing to the occasion through an unusual way.

I really like how it all takes place in a diffrent world. not like someone from our world jumping to another universe.

"Battles are not won by the strength of arms." Thos book was well written and great character development all throughout. Erevan is the man.

As much as this one was slow to get going to me, in the end it more than made up for it as things quickly came to a head. Looking forward to the next installment!

Pivots does it again, this time with a gamelit masterpiece (his whisper of iron was isekai). I made the huge mistake of buying this audiobook before work and found myself sneaking listens all day long, finishing it like a madman on the way home. The book is impossible to put down, with each 'act' ending with some craziness and awesome interludes that give the story all kinds of story depth. The characters are incredible, with the dwarves being my favorite (played really well by Exo, nice job mate!). The story definitely has old school RPG vibes, with the classes and skills interesting and scalable. The MC has a very interesting journey ahead of him, and I cannot wait for book 2!!!!

I enjoyed it. it was honestly better than I thought would be and uses proper terminology when talking about blacksmithing the characters development was done well and no OP mc. instead his development was well paced and the depth of side characters was well done

Character development

Narrator needs to slow down but other than that his performance was fine. The story and characters were interesting but also not that great. Main character is a bit stupid, hopefully that changes. I’ll probably wait to get the next one. This is better than a lot of other books on here but mostly as a last option.

Pivots has truly started something special with this series. A major issue with most litrpg books are the main character scales to OP by the end of book one. The main character struggles and grows throughout the entire book but is nowhere near op. He struggles throughout the whole book and there are twists and turn that left me just wanting more. Even now that I’m finished I need more of this series. Exo does a great job bringing a great book to life and I’m looking forward to this truly unique series and can not recommend enough!!
