fantastic story

I avoided this series for a long time, I thought it would be testosterone filled op worshipping plotless book.
I gave it a try because of the authors past series’ and I would listen to Tess Irondale read the dictionary.
I was very pleased with the story and plot. Good book , now book 2

The story is ok, I feel like they get bane of the minor characters confused a couple of times but Tess is great and I like that the main Character is neither stupid nor an asshole which can happen in these stories.

tess irondale dose a great job on this book. the story is good. however Dante king has a bad habit of putting in pop culture references. how ever in this story the mane character aculy trys to stop using them and for the most part stops half way threw the book.

I've read Dante King's books in the past and I have for the most part enjoyed them. I've also enjoyed Tess Irondale narration. I think she always does a fantastic job. as for this story I got to say that there were a number of surprises that I didn't expect. overall I enjoyed the story and I'm definitely interested in seeing how it develops. At the time of this review the second book is available unfortunately in ebook form only at this time at least.

plain and simple all around good. this is a must read. great story, voice actor, and setting.

The narrator did a great job. No complaints. However, the material she was working with had her repeating some things a few times and questions being asked that were unnecessary. Characters ignoring previously understood information is a bit frustrating. Then someone with no understanding and no memories of their past life just waltzes in and knows things when the plot demands it. Please. Please do better. Other than that, I enjoyed the story for what it is. Basically a giant board game or video game. Fun trash.

It’s an intriguing story but it is just a tad eye-roll inducing.

The story is interesting and the way the MC gains power is also unique. Hopefully the series continues strong 😁
