Publisher's summary
This magical inscription, which aids in the precise sheering of sheep, caught the eye of Mr. Darcy, who happens to own an estate with over two thousand sheep. When he writes to the mysterious E. Bennet, creator of the inscription, to ask a few questions, he unexpectedly begins an ongoing correspondence that lasts almost two years. Over this time, Mr. Darcy begins to consider E. Bennet a friend.
A lucky invitation gives Darcy a chance to meet his mysterious letter-writing friend, and he jumps at the opportunity, even if it means staying in the home of one of his more social climbing friends, Mr. Bingley. When E. Bennet turns out to be a female, Darcy must confront some of his most deeply held beliefs about the female sex.
Many side characters have new personalities in this magic-filled Pride and Prejudice variation, but at its core it is still the story of how Elizabeth and Darcy overcome their pre-conceptions and fall in love, facing challenges together in the process.

One warning, two cautions, and two notes: WARNING: Portions of this book focus on some of George Wickham’s worst crimes against young ladies. While the revenge taken is not fully or graphically detailed, it is extreme. “He had certainly formed such a plan, and without meaning that it should effect his endeavour to separate him from Miss Bennet, it is probable that it might add something to his lively concern for the welfare of his friend.” Pride & Prejudice, chapter 45 This vagary proposes an alternate path for the characters of Pride and Prejudice. Of Friendship and Forgiveness is a sweet, clean, low angst Pride and Prejudice variation of 62,000 words written from a Christian perspective. Excerpt: Elizabeth lay back onto the grass allowing the sun to warm her face and the breeze to tousle her hair. The gloriously vivid blue sky was reflected perfectly in the still end of the loch while the waterfall at the other end sent a cooling mist into the air. Perfect. This was a perfectly lovely day in a perfectly lovely place. She thought about the series of events that had brought her here to this remote estate in Scotland, alone except for ...

Story
Widowed at a young age, Fitzwilliam Darcy has no reason to think he'll ever find the love his first marriage lacked. Instead, he dedicates himself to his roles as father and co-guardian, determined to excel at both. But when love finally finds him, will he be too mired by the strife of the past to recognize it?

Boring
There is no magic here. I gave it two stars because I was able to finish it, but…. That was the longest 6 hours or so of my life. The dialogue is flat, the plot is predictable, and the characters are one dimensional.
