Over eight billion people died when the world ended.

Critic reviews
"EIGHT MINUTES, THIRTY-TWO SECONDS is a twisty and unnerving horror thriller! Scary, mind-bending and fast-paced! Brace yourself...!" (Jonathan Maberry, New York Times bestselling author of Rot & Ruin and V-Wars)
"Lightning-fast, riveting, and smart. Just try to put this book down!" (Jeanne Ryan, author of Nerve)
"It's rare to read a book that feels genuinely unique, that stands apart from the tropes and retreads; it's rarer still to peel away that book's layers of tension and tragedy to discover that it's really a beautifully-crafted story about compassion (and the consequences of losing it) and love. That's exactly what Peter Adam Salomon accomplishes with his extraordinary Eight Minutes, Thirty-Two Seconds, and I cannot recommend this book highly enough." (Lisa Morton, Bram Stoker Award-winning author and editor, President of the Horror Writers Association)

I had a few issues with the plot, including..if the world population except 6 teenagers died quite quickly, who built the massive facility with advanced equipment and stocked it? Regardless, this was an original storyline to me and overall I’m glad I listened to it. It had potential. Unique idea.
This is the first book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Tom Howery ). He did well with the different voices including the computer. He had a cadence that was more akin to telling a story instead of reading it.
There are no explicit sex scenes, or excessive violence. There is the very occasional swearing.

It's deeply philosophical, and subversive of the common YA tropes--plucky teenagers fighting to save a world the adults destroyed. In this book, it's something of the reverse. It starts with M and L, the last people on earth, and their mysterious need to die almost every day for eight minutes and thirty-two seconds, and when they're revived, they remember just a little bit more of the lives of six teenagers leading up to the end of the world. The story unfolds in increasing desperation in both flashbacks of other lives and the decreasing gap in times between "deaths" in the present. It's a love story. And a story of despair and tenacity against all odds. I was on the edge of my seat right until the very last lines.
The narration was absolutely fantastic as well. The narrator did such an excellent job at the unintentionally uncooperative AI that I wanted to clobber the AI's servers every time the characters hit an informational wall. Really great job.
What a home run. If you like deep and deeply emotional stories that speak to issues humanity faces, definitely pick this one up.

It's hard to come up with a completely novel approach to the end of the world. But that is exactly what the author has done with Eight Minutes, Thirty-Two Seconds. The story takes place after an apocalypse has occurred, and through flashbacks we try to learn how it was that it happened. The plot is very intriguing, and the author pulls it off nicely.
The narrator of the audiobook does a good job of intensifying the intense situations, and though not perfect, mostly adds to the story without detracting from it.
Overall a very interesting read which I would highly recommend.
