About this listen

Nick Seagrave is a disillusioned business executive who has lost loved ones to tragedy and his family to neglect. Now, at a point of great crisis, he finds himself inexplicably transported to what appears to be another world. Suddenly he's confronted with profoundly clear views of his own past and personality. And he's enabled to see, hear, taste, and smell the realities of both heaven and hell - realities that force him to face dangers and trials far greater than any he's known before.

Pitted against flying beasts; a monstrous web that threatens to hold him captive; an evil, brooding intelligence; and undeniable evidence of a spiritual world, Nick must finally come to grips with the God he claims not to believe in.

Walking between two worlds - where every choice he makes casts a vote for heaven or hell - Nick Seagrave prepares to make decisions that will change his life forever, as he stands on the Edge of Eternity.

Missing Detail?

There seems to be parts of the story that are missing? All of a sudden they cross the chasm and Quan is dead, is that on purpose?…what happened to the play by play? Having 2 narrators didn’t work because one interrupted or nearly did almost all the time.

Thoughtful Truth About our World

I have read this book many times over the years of knowing God as my Lord and each time I have read it, He teaches me even more about His world and His truth. Thank you to Randy Alcorn for writing such a beautiful book that can bring new depths of understanding to the reader.

Missing content

I’ve read the physical book. This story is excellent, but the audible version is missing two major sections. Get the actual book instead unless they fix this recording.

Exceded my expectations/hopes

Would you consider the audio edition of Edge of Eternity to be better than the print version?

Yes

What was one of the most memorable moments of Edge of Eternity?

When Nick could see Joshua for who he really was

Which character – as performed by Roger Marsh and Phil Ross – was your favorite?

Nick

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The title, it says it all

Any additional comments?

I recommend this to everyone. It's enlightening and gives such a parallel view to our lives and reality of Whom we belong to...not ourselves...

Good once you get into it

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I would say it was time well spent after the first hour or so. Very difficult to get into it, which is not normal for his books.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Great!

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The voices were very dull

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

A faith saving epic of eternal proportion

This story came to me just as I am experiencing a time of heartache and betrayal. The poignant story of the struggle of traveling the "red road" enabled me to see that; although the intensity of my fears, doubts and temptation to lose hope are very real, the battle is not unique to me, but is part of God's plan and purpose to help me recognize my need to daily experience his grace when my own resources are completely drained, to actively connect with fellow travelers and allow God's incomprehensible wisdom to create a faith that is deeper, stronger and more humbling than before. The description of heaven and the glorious fulfillment of my deepest desires gives me perspective and strength to surrender myself to God's design one day at a time. Thank you Randy for using your gift to sustain and encourage fellow "travelers:"
