Earl of Darby

Earl of Darby by Aubrey Wynne was just enthralling with a dash of mystery. I really liked this book. it was about an Earl that was tricked into marriage by his own mother and her friend and daughter. There are many twists and turns but it's so good.

Another good one

This title was another good one. I want more from this author, at least in historical romance. It doesn't matter that it is book four. It is a good standalone. I got this title from audio books unleashed and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Enjoyable

The worst possible thing that could happen does happen on the night of Nicholas' arranged marriage. He finds out that not only does his mother, mother in law, and new wife have plotted behind his back, his new wife commits"" suicide".
After the passing of 5 yrs of living with the all the guilt and revenge weighing heavily on his mind, Nicholas meets his friends sister Hannah. Hannah comes to London for her first season there and learns many new things about her family as well as Nicholas. Intrigue, suspense and romance kept my interest throughout the story. Good Story. A historical novel

I have not listened to the other books in this series but feel this one stands alone. Not my favoite story but it is good.

The narration was good too.
I would listen to more books by this author and listen to the narrator again.

Beautiful Regency Romance!

This is the third book in the Wicked Earls' Club: Once Upon a Widow Serie, an amazing Regency Romance. I like the quotes before each chapter. The Prologue is heartbreaking. The story is well written. Hannah and Nicholas's story is beautiful. Nicholas, Earl of Darby, is handsome and protective. Hannah is sweet, candid, and lovely. The storyline is well balanced, with intrigue, suspense, and romance. The supporting characters are great. Harry Frost did an outstanding job with the narration. I enjoyed it. I love Aubrey Wynne's writing. She NEVER disappoints. I highly recommend this Series. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Pretty good...:)

That's my first book in the series and I'd say it's a 3.5 star story with a really good narration.
I like the main characters; Hannah is warm and caring, able to look behind the mask a person wears in public; Nicholas is hurt, honorable and equally caring under the mask of a rake everyone takes him for. They suit each other really well...
The plot is quite interesting, with Nicholas's plans for revenge being the focal point for the whole set of events, though at times the pace slows down a bit. But the development of mutual feelings between Hannah and Nicholas is shown through subtle scenes between them and through what they think of each other, and that is a huge plus for me...:)

Narration by Mr Frost is really well done; it's ususally female narrators who read romances, so having a male narrator in this one was a refreshing change:) I had a small problem getting used to him reading female voices, but after the first few minutes it stopped bothering me and I generally liked this interpretation very much.

revenge and love

Nicholas had a lot of plates in the air to juggle at one time. He had revenge to sayisfy, and he had to protect his best friend's sister who is thawing out his frozen heart. Wow! I liked both main characters and was invested in their plight. The aunt was a great addition with her whit and wisdom. What a dramatic ending!! The narrator did a great job. I voluntarily listened to a free copy and am giving an honest review.

Nicholas and Hannah

Nicholas is low on money due to his father being cheated out of his fortune in a game. He agrees to get married. Only his wife dies tragically soon after. For 5 years, Nicholas pursues revenge. Then, he meets Hannah. Hannah is the sister of one of his close friends. While Nicholas is not in a frame of mind to move on, but finds himself drawn to Hannah. When Hannah’s life is in danger, Nicholas makes some meaningful decisions.
The story is interesting, I was wondering why Nicholas did not warn Hannah to stay close to his sister when he knew she was a target. Not using common sense drives the plot forward, but it is irritating. The narration was wonderful. Overall a solid and interesting book. It just needed something more.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fun Regency YA Romance

This series is geared for the young adult to adult reader due to the writing style, mild language and depth of romance PG13 (although there are no actual sex scenes there is a lot of talk, insinuations and arousal talk). The story was a fun rollercoaster of emotions all dealing around the Earl's wife's death and whether or not he could get his revenge and be able to move on or not. The narrator did a great job and was enjoyable to listen to.
