About this listen

Born with a secret power he must hide....

Telryn "Trip" Yert has always been a little odd, with hunches that are too accurate to explain. Magic is feared and forbidden in Iskandia, so he's struggled his whole life to hide his eccentricities. As a boy, he was forced to watch his mother's execution. Her crime? Witchcraft.

Understandably, Trip wants nothing to do with the power that lurks within him, always threatening to reveal itself. Instead, he dedicates himself to serving as an officer in the king's army, to battling pirates and imperial conquerors. He longs to become a soldier as respected and renowned as the legendary General Zirkander.

But his country is in need of more than a soldier.

After disappearing for over 1,000 years, dragons have returned to the world. A few of them are willing to be allies to mankind, as they were millennia before, but far more want to destroy or enslave humans and claim the world for themselves.

There are few people left with the power to fight dragons. For reasons he doesn't understand, Trip may be one of those people. But if he chooses to learn more about his heritage and the power he can wield, he risks losing everyone he loves and everything he longs to be.

I wish they would turn this series and the dragon blood series into movies! That would be absolutely amazing!

Love how it builds off the old series!

This series has gotten me through my depression episodes. I feel like I’m listening to old friends through each book. Thank you so much for helping me through the everyday struggle that is life. I really do appreciate it!

So glad the story continues

I loved the previous series, and I'm glad to see the some of the characters I adore with new fascinating additions. I must say Audible new what they were doing when they let me get the first 3 book free. I have not been able to stop listening to these books.

A spin off from Dragons Blood series

I had not realized that this was focusing on an additional story line from Dragon Blood until I listened to it. I picked it because I love most of Lindsay Buroker books. The narrator Caitlin Davies is my favorite narrator and would choose to listen to any book she narrates. Will be looking forward to how this side story developes!

cant wait to listen to the rest

I don't know if it's just my love of Lindsay Buroker and her take on dragons and charcter building or its Caitlin Davies narrating (she could narrate the Iliad and I would be captivated lol) but I always enjoy the stories. I did however wish we would have gotten more back end story on the Pirate King and his Sorcerer Queen to find out how that all came about and worked out. 2 decades is a long time and her power level seemed to be of the old blood and time. O'Well beggars cant be choosy. Bravo.

Heat Warming, Action Storming

This one holds you into thr action immediately. As you get to know the characters, you get to know the world. Too exciting to stop even at the end.
