About this listen

Return to the Veil and see what trouble holds next for Olivia and the descendants.

The age of dragons could be coming to end. Five months to be exact. That is unless Olivia Campbell can find a way to break the curse that has bound the last four dragon shifters to the Veil, an island uncharted on any map.

Kieran Devenport is edgy, charming, and deadly. His ability to breathe poison makes him a formidable foe or a powerful ally. Olivia is glad he is on her side.

As Olivia prepares for a journey deep into the woods of Veil where Kieran’s kingdom, Viperus, thrives on tangled chaos and wild danger, she must find the Star of Poison. But she isn’t alone, and no matter the cost, Olivia is determined to save her dragons. The scorned witch, Tianna, can kiss her ass.

Four dragons.

One headstrong heroine.

And a reverse-harem fantasy romance that could change the fate of a dying race.

Absorbing Poison will transport fans of Twilight, A Shade of Vampire, and The Curse of the Gods to an enchanted world unlike any other...

Prepare for a unique spin on the lore you love - and an adventure that is as thrilling as it is unexpected.

omg its getting better

this book is so good, I just cant get enough. I'm so in love with Oliva she's sassy, funny and maybe a pain in the butt sometimes. but i got to say it fits her, lets not forget the boys I think they are a perfect match for her. I kinda wish I was in her shoes lol, and Vanessa Moyen again did an awesome job. I just love the way she reads the books.

Good story

I really enjoyed listening to this story. It was fast and enjoyable. The characters are well developed and grow throughout the book. The narrator does a great job with the story and has a very pleasant listening voice. The story world is great and goes from modern Chicago to the fantasy world of the dragon shifters. My biggest complaint are the inconsistencies in the main character, Olivia. They are not enough for me to change my ratings, but these books should go back through an editing process for consistency. For example, in the first book, Olivia states (to the reader) that she is a virgin. In this book, right before she sleeps with one of the characters, she goes off on a remembrance of "her first time with 10 minute Jimmy". Huh? Why wasn't that brought up in the first book, or why bring it up at all for a supposed virgin? Olivia goes from a virgin to a sexually experienced with a back story that doesn't match up. It is these little inconsistencies that jar what would otherwise be a pretty great story. Forewarning - the sex becomes more and more explicit in each book, even though there isn't a lot of it.

Kept me interested the whole time!

Laughing...crying...goosebumps...the works!

Vanessa Moyen is brilliant as usual! You totally forget she is all the voices because she gives each character their own personality!

Weil is new to me but she doesn’t disappoint! I’m hooked and will have to read ALL of her books!!

Storyline Good

This is the 2nd book in series, I felt it was drawn out a little to much to be equal to book 1 but still a worthwhile listen/read.
Main character is Very klutzy and knows it, She stumbles over just about everything and the Dragons she is trying to help have a difficult time not snickering at times. A amusing and interesting story

Still Not Bad

As with the 1st book, the main character's background is still being contradicted with her being portrayed as incompetent.

There were moments when the answer seemed so obvious, clues were given that she blatantly ignored or never mentioned again & she's just dawdling along like she has no common sense. It's like the progression aspect was staggered inconsistently instead of having a purpose. Usually, when something is detailed in a book, the characters are meant to react to it in some way; but with her, those lines are as though they're forgotten when the perfect moment to reintroduce them arrive.

A few rearrangements of how things occurred would of been such a help in maintaining the immersion. I avoid stories with incompetent characters because, for me, it's too frustrating to be enjoyable. Especially when a character's backstory explicitly implies they have intelligence.

I'm going to continue with the next book in the hope that common sense will finally be included within the main character.

fantasy p0rn?

why are these books so short. It should of been made into one book. I do not enjoy the narrator. She reads too fast and is almost robotic monotone. I'm also not enjoying this whole 4 lovers aspect.
