About this listen

Unexpected fatherhood, a newborn daughter and a nanny in the next bedroom he can't stop fantasizing about.

When a one-night stand announces I just became a father to a baby girl, my world is thrown into turmoil.

My choice: single fatherhood or sign adoption papers.

The decision is easy.

Within hours, I'm on a plane to collect my daughter.

I’m in over my head. I barely know one end of a baby from the other. Luckily, I have the perfect plan. I’ll hire live-in help, have limited involvement with the kid, and keep my life just the same as it’s always been.

I finally find a nanny who lives up to my exacting standards. But the only problem is, every time I look at her, the future I thought I wanted starts to crumble.

Nothing in my life is going according to plan… and the wriggling poo machine in my arms is unexpectedly worming her way into my heart.

Life was ordered and logical until I got myself two roommates and started falling in love with both of them.

A standalone romance.

Really good story. Love the Coves!

Louise Bay is pretty much always an immediate buy since I discovered her a few years ago. Without question she is one of my favorite authors in the genre. There are so many of her series that I absolutely love and will listen to multiple times. I love the cove family and was so excited to see another installment in the series. This one was a great addition. Dax and Eira(sp?) were great. You can read these as standalone, but don’t! Start from the beginning and you will fall in love with the entire family and will better understand their dynamics. ❤️ such a great series. This makes me want to start the series over. I also appreciate that LB doesn’t make a book unnecessarily long. Perfect length.

The Perfect Remedy

Let me start by saying that the Cove men are absolutely extraordinary.  They make my heart pitter patter!  But Dax Cove just pulled ahead in the race.  Dr. Dax Cove is all the proof I need that the love and support of a good woman can make a man be everything he ever dreamed of being.

Dr. Dax Cove was very conscious of who he was. No nonsense, scientific and critical thinking, and posed to make a discovery and change in the medical community. Life was as he intended. Until one simple phone call turned his world upside down.  He then found himself navigating fatherhood, something he definitely did not want. He just needed a nanny to take care of the surprise daughter. She would manage the child and he would provide. Simple enough. Except the nanny came with complications he didn’t expect.

Eira was a nurturer by heart. A fixer of sorts. She’d been doing it for her siblings and it also became her vocation. She was excellent actually. Never any problems…until Dax Cove became her employer.  And everything she knew and held close became blurred.  Her attraction to her boss was absolutely not allowed. Except her body and heart didn’t get the message.

Dax and Eira both had rules they lived by. These were clear and necessary. But with time, the rules became suggestions. They couldn’t deny their attraction. He set her body on fire. She softened his hard exterior. She made him want to be a better father. Unfortunately, doubts and clouded visions were too strong to see what lay beyond.  Can these two find their way back to where they belong…together?

The strength of Eira was so heartwarming.  She was an unstoppable force.  And Dax, well that man evolved slowly but effortlessly.  Once he allowed his walls to soften, he saw what life could truly be like, how he could live all parts of his life, how he could be happy.  He was so cold and meticulous but melted so smoothly.  These Cove men just make my heart happy.

The narration duo of Shane East and Zara Hampton-Brown was absolutely amazing!  Shane East has such a hypnotic voice. He made me feel Dax’s fear, frustration, longing, and ultimately how he fell in love. And Hampton-Brown made Eira so real. I could understand her trepidation and how she needed to take care of everything. These two made this story a beautiful experience.

Sorry to see this series come to an end!

I have enjoyed this entire series and this book is no exception. I enjoyed Dax's story from start to finish.

Dax, the youngest and quietest Cove brother becomes a surprise single father - and thinks that he can hire a nanny to care for his new daughter before realizing that his life really has changed. Enter Eira the nanny who is looking to ease the financial burdens of her family of siblings after they had been swindled by an uncle and the death of her parents. What the two do not expect is the attraction between them.

This was a well written story that made me sad since it signals the end of this series. The characters were well written and the chemistry between them was palpable at times. I enjoyed the return of the characters from the other books of this series. Overall, this was a great read that I would recommend to others.

a great read

Dr. Single Dad is a great addition to Louise Bay's Doctors series. I loved this book in both ebook and audiobook formats.

Dax has a job he loves and a life he's comfortable in. All that changes, though, when he finds out he's the father of a newborn baby daughter. Suddenly he has to figure out how to take care of his daughter Guinevere when he never wanted to be a parent. Hiring Eira to be the nanny was only supposed to be so he could go back to living his life like he used to. However, Dax quickly finds both Guinevere and Eira mean more to him than he ever expected.

This was a sweet, engaging story. I loved seeing Dax connect with Guinevere at the same time he was falling for Eira. They fit together so well and the unexpected chemistry between Dax and Eira was fun to read. I enjoyed their dual POV and seeing how their feelings grew and changed as they fell for one another.

I can't recommend this book and series enough!

One More HOT Cove Brother

Have you met the Cove brothers? If you haven't then WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? In this series, Author Louise Bay has created some of the most delectable romantic characters ever and the secondary characters are already like old friends. This delicious story is about Dax, the youngest Cove brother, and it is an absolute triumph of romantic love stories.

Dax is a researcher who knows that the results of his research will help thousands of patients live better, healthier lives. He gets up early to head to the lab and he thinks about his job when he is not at work. His life is completely full and satisfying. Then he gets the call that a one-night stand with a visiting American has produced a daughter. Because his name is on the birth certificate, he has to sign-off on the adoption papers. But he can't do it. Within hours, he is on his way to the US to pick up his new-born daughter with his cousin Vincent and brother Jacob along for the ride. The panty-melting scene when the uncles goo-goo over Dax's baby daughter is incredible, thanks to the skillful accents and voices created by narrator Shane East. In fact, all of the Coves make cameos in this story as we get updates on each of their lives.
Fabulous narration by Shane East and by Zara Hampton-Brown, who provides the perfect voice for Eira, the nanny, whose skill and patience affect changes that Dax never thought possible. I love this book.

What to Expect:
- Single Dad x Nanny
- Forbidden Romance
- Billionaire Romance
- Slow Burn
- Steamy Tension

Dr. Single Dad is my first read by Louise Bay. I have not read the other books in this series, but I certainly will read them after devouring this story.

Dax is a successful doctor engaged in medical research and living a peaceful life. His world is flipped upside down when he receives news that he is a father to a newborn daughter. Although he knows nothing about fatherhood, he immediately flies to America to meet his daughter and bring her home. Dax is convinced his life won't change much but immediately realizes he needs help. Enter Eira. Dax is initially not impressed with Eira and does not hire her as his nanny. As fate would have it, Eira is in the right place at the right time, showing Dax she is exactly who he and his daughter need. Eira happily accepts the nanny role, but there is one problem - she is attracted to her boss.

This story pulled me in from the start, and I loved Dax and Eira together. Their love story was so fun to read. I absolutely adored them, and I enjoyed witnessing their relationship grow. Fatherhood changed Dax in an amazing way, and he truly fell in love with his daughter. I love how Dax wanted to give Eira the world, and Eira was there to show Dax he could be a wonderful father while maintaining a successful career. Dr. Single Dad has amazing character development. This story has romance, angst, humor, heartwarming moments, and even some twists and turns. I highly recommend this read for those looking for a feel-good story.

NARRATION:
Shane East and Zara Hampton-Brown narrate this story. Being new to Louise Bay and these narrators, I was pleasantly surprised to hear Shane's British accent. Zara brought Eira to life and made her real. Shane made me feel Dax's emotions while navigating new fatherhood and his feelings for Eira. Shane and Zara provided an amazing listening experience.

I wanna be a nanny!

I love listening to books by Louise Bay. No cliffhangers here. At first I thought we’d see an appearance by ‘the biological mom’ so glad she didn’t appear and upset the balance. Dax is quite the father…. With a busy career did he bite off more than he could chew? That’s where a single dad needs a nanny. It’s ok that he chose a different nanny because the stars aligned and all was right. Eira has had her share of ups and downs. After losing their parents, she has two siblings depending on her. She’s always been someone’s nanny so she can financially afford to help her brother and sister. The story comes together with so much love, patience and understanding! I love seeing past characters in these books

Love the single Dad trope, add a British accent and swoon.

I loved the dynamic between this unexpected single Dad and the nanny. She was sweet and he was grumpy at first but of course he fell in love with both his baby daughter and the nanny. Sweet story and the Audiobook was great. Shane East British accent is beautifully swoony and perfect.
