Editorial reviews

Press play and prepare for a spooky, scary ride from the master of horror himself, the inimitable R. L. Stine! In Dr. Maniac vs. Robby Schwartz, Stine spins two dark tales: one about a boy who creates a comic book super-villain and then accidentally unleashes him on the real world, and another about a group of children trapped in a horror amusement park, trying desperately to survive.

Marc Thompson’s performance of these eerie stories is pitch perfect, and accentuated by a musical soundtrack creepy enough to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Thompson captures the essence of the Goosebumps books, drawing out tension while simultaneously hamming up the humorous aspects of this thrilling audiobook.

Brought to life by an awesome narrator.

If you could sum up Dr. Maniac vs. Robby Schwartz in three words, what would they be?

Can't think of any at the moment.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Dr. Maniac. An amazing villain.

Which character – as performed by Marc Thompson – was your favorite?

All of them. The man is the man of a thousand voices.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It had a lot of funny bits. Some creepy ones too.

Any additional comments?

Too bad Marc Thompson didn't narrate more of these.

Ok. . .

Look i love the story but it's kinda confusing. i liked the story idea but the way R. L. Stine wrote it was very confusing for me. Maybe it was i was a little distracted or it's just best i read the story myself or maybe it's just confusing

Interesting Story

This story was slightly different when it comes to flow for a Goosebumps book. However, it was still well written and enjoyable. The narrator was phenomenal and was able to bring life to each of the different characters. Definitely a cool listen!

It was so so.

The first 4 books were better. I really hope that the others to come is more entertaining. It also became confusing because it seems everything is all in Robby's head.

Pretty Good

If you could sum up Dr. Maniac vs. Robby Schwartz in three words, what would they be?

Maniacal good fun

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dr. Maniac vs. Robby Schwartz?

When dr. Maniac ate the dead squirrel (not the parents choice - the 7 year old is telling me what to write).

What about Marc Thompson’s performance did you like?

Marc Thompson does a great job.

Any additional comments?

Goosebumps are awesome (said by a 7 year old). As a parent they are fun. I appreciate the imagination she uses when listening to an audio book. Really reduces the tv and video game time. She will listen to books for hours and play legos. These books are not for the child who is easily scared.
