About this listen

A collection of prequel novellas to the New York Times best-selling Dorothy Must Die series.

Long before Amy Gumm got swept away from a Kansas trailer park...Dorothy Gale received a package on the night of her 16th birthday: a pair of red high-heeled shoes. "Dear Dorothy," the note read. "I thought about silver to match the ones you lost, but in the end I decided that red was more your color. I think you know what to do with them."

And with a knock of her heels, Dorothy returned to the magical land that made her a star - and Oz would never be the same again.

This bind-up of three prequel novellas to the New York Times best-selling Dorothy Must Die series follows Dorothy Gale as she transforms from good girl to Wicked Witch. Kiss the land where troubles melt like lemon drops good-bye. Here there's danger around every corner, and magical shoes won't be able to save you.

Funny as heck

The first three books were great fast moving funny and imaginary. The last part the set up for the series was a bit slow and the characters annoying but I'm still interested in how this series turns out

Interesting prequels

I like reading these prequel stories and getting more information about what happened in Oz before Amy gets there in the main novels. It's especially interesting seeing how Dorothy got back to Oz and changed into the evil bitch we know her as in the books. Each story had their own narrator which I liked and helped me separate each novella. This really makes me want to read the books over again, they're so good!

Needs to be longer

This was a great look into the more minor characters' back stories. The one of Dorothy was wonderful and exciting! I only wish it was longer!

why??

the added stories in this book are nice, the voices are ok in the short stories, even Dorothy's story and voice is pretty good but the preview to the Dorothy must die, the voice for Amy...there is no way I could listen to a full book of that voice! in just a few seconds I understood why Maddison would pick on her and didn't blame her for it. I have read the physical book and loved it but now I know to stay away from the audio version!

Wonderful Turn of Events

I love how she has put her own twist the the stories while still being respectful to the other Authors of the stories. They all just melt together. Very much enjoyed this book.
