About this listen

An irreverent, hilarious insider's look at big-time NCAA basketball, through the eyes of the nation's most famous benchwarmer and author of the popular blog ClubTrillion.com (3.6m visits!). Mark Titus holds the Ohio State record for career wins, and made it to the 2007 national championship game. You would think Titus would be all over the highlight reels. You'd be wrong.

In 2006, Mark Titus arrived on Ohio State's campus as a former high school basketball player who aspired to be an orthopedic surgeon. Somehow, he was added to the elite Buckeye basketball team, given a scholarship, and played alongside seven future NBA players on his way to setting the record for most individual career wins in Ohio State history. Think that's impressive? In four years, he scored a grand total of nine - yes, nine - points.

This book will give readers an uncensored and uproarious look inside an elite NCAA basketball program from Titus's unique perspective. In his four years at the end of the bench, Mark founded his wildly popular blog Club Trillion, became a hero to all guys picked last, and even got scouted by the Harlem Globetrotters. Mark Titus is not your average basketball star. This is a wild and completely true story of the most unlikely career in college basketball. A must-read for all fans of March Madness and college sports!

Critic reviews

"Mark Titus knows a lot of personal secrets of mine. If he revealed any of them in this book, I will kick him right in the testicles. I’m not joking." (Greg Oden, #1 overall pick in 2007 NBA Draft, 2007 1st Team All-American)

“Of all the players I’ve coached in my career, Mark Titus is one of them.” (Thad Matta, head basketball coach at Ohio State)

“You want me to give you a quote? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. You’ve been riding my coattails for years, so of course you want to put my name on your book to sell more copies.” (Evan Turner, #2 overall pick in 2010 NBA Draft, 2010 college basketball National Player of The Year)

A Funny Insight Into the World of Club Trillion

If you could sum up Don't Put Me In, Coach in three words, what would they be?

A funny look at one man's college basketball story. Mark Titus was a walk on the Greg Oden led Ohio State basketball team. He tells the story of his time on that team to some of the struggles that the team had after Oden left for the NBA. At the same time the book is laugh out loud funny.

What other book might you compare Don't Put Me In, Coach to and why?

A much less serious Friday Night Lights.

What aspect of Tyler Seiple’s performance would you have changed?

I think I would have had him add some more of Mark Titus's verbal style.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"Don't put me in coach"

Love Mark Titus and the book...stupid they didn’t let him read the audio version. The guy who reads it is very boring.

No offense Tyler Seiple but your voice just doesn’t go well with this book. Very boring performance. Dumb that Mark Titus couldn’t do the audio version. He does podcast and YouTube videos and stuff....pretty sure he’s capable of doing his own audiobook...wow Amazon...just...wow?

Fun for Buckeyes or college hoop junkies

Many very funny stories. Overall enjoyable and nice mindless listening. Interesting hearing details about the guys you watched play for OSU for the last few years. And I have been a Thad Matta fan, but am a bigger one now.. You are reminded often that the writer is about 23 years old as he regularly says things like, "I never heard something like this, or saw so much of that, etc.. in my Entire Life." If you love OSU like I do, it is a good, fun, albeit raunchy listen. Oh, as for the raunchy, don't get it for your grandma or 8 year old. Author states his audience is 16-34 year old males, and there are many sex, body part and bodily function stories..

just plain funny...

Great entertainment. One of those books you could just listen to straight through. Not sure how he did not get kicked off the team....but great that he did not. Really funny and will have you laughing to yourself and having others wonder what the heck you are listening to.

Really well read.

So so

I kept waiting for this story to have a significant learning lesson or a point, but that time never came. It was highly recommended but like some things in life, like restaurants- people think something average is “OMG it’s SO good”, and this is the case. Sophomoric pranks, predictable story lines and again, where is the life lesson or take away? I felt the narration was lackluster. But, I finished it so that gives it a 3 out of 5.

Hysterical in a juvenile way.

Great quick listen for NCAA tournament, particularly if you played HS or college hoops. Greg Oden and elevator stories may be familiar to some, but still funny. Caution, not for those sensitive to politically incorrect humor.

light hearted and fun reading

If your a buckeye fan its a fun book to listen too. However I would rate this PG / R due to some of the sexual comments made.

Great Book. Decent Reading.

The reading sounded robotic and very monotone, but it was easy to get over when listening to the content of the book. #clubtrillion

fun stories but no larger story

Great stories about OSU but this guy is probably a huge jerk in real life.
