A puzzle worth solving...
Lisa Jewell’s Don’t Let Him In ensnared me from the beginning. From the character interactions that made me want to pull out my hair in frustration to the genuine a-ha moments when things began to click, I was hooked. Following recent widow Nina, mourning daughter Ash, and neglected wife and mom Martha, Don’t Let Him In explores the complexities of these women's relationship with a man that turns out very wrong. Not only do they learn they shouldn't have let him in, it might be too late to avoid what may come crashing down on them. I had almost visceral reactions to the lies told, stories believed, actions ignored. And to put a cherry on top of these well-developed characters, Don't Let Him In is a multi-cast listen performed by top-notch talents like Richard Armitage, Joanne Froggatt, Tamaryn Payne, Gemma Whelan, Louise Brealey, and Patience Tomlinson. —Nicole R., Audible Editor

If you compare this to some of her other books this might not be the most suspenseful . But this is an excellent portrayal of a narcissist and how his mind work. If you’ve been lucky enough to not experience a narcissist in your life it could feel far fetched and the women dumb for falling for lies and deception but when you are involved with one it’s like you are caught in a spiral you can’t get out of. I appreciated this book for showcasing this to a certain extent.

This audiobook is a well-crafted, expertly performed crime and horror thriller. But in my opinion it is too long and has more characters than it needs, and I found it dispiriting rather than exciting. The performers are all excellent, especially Richard Armitage, who is wonderfully creepy. Recommended for horror fans.

Not my favorite Lisa Jewell. So many characters and “all over the place” narrative. I’m a huge fan however this was just a meh for me.

I love how flawed Lisa Jewell’s characters are. This is the story of a con man who will go to great lengths for money. One of those capable, intelligent, charismatic guys who could influence people to help other people, if only he used his brain for good causes. Though I wish the author had given us more insight into his upbringing so we could have understood how his personality became warped, this omission did not make the story less riveting. This is a 5-star plot driven narrative.

I really loved this book. Lisa Jewell was able to bring complexity and depth to all of the significant characters, even though there were several. The way the plot unfolded was paced so well that i never felt frustrated but were still surprised. The ending felt very satisfying. Narration was awesome. Great book by a great author.

Lisa Jewei never disappoints! This was an excellent book! The writing was amazing, and the narration was exceptional. Kudos to all. I love every one of your books; I could not stop listening!

Each sentence lands with purpose, each turn of the story handled with quiet confidence. There’s nothing flashy here, just precision, atmosphere, and depth. Another jewel in Lisa’s box—sharp-cut, brilliantly set. Pun intended.
