About this listen

It’s been over a year since Cassidy Miller retired from the United States Marine Corps, but try telling that to her nightmares. She knew that coming back after eight years in a war zone wouldn’t be easy, but she’d underestimated the real difficulties of transitioning back to civilian life. War is hell, but the aftermath is endless.

Looking for a fresh start, she’s left her friends and career in Minneapolis to be a police officer in northern Minnesota. It’s in the tiny town of Embarrass where she learns more about Julia Desjardin. The city prosecutor is cool, professional, and untouchable. But she and Cassidy have history, and Cassidy isn’t going to let her easily forget that.

For all their surface differences, Cassidy and Julia have more in common than they first realized - both are reluctant to hand over their pasts to be judged and studied. But it might take someone just as damaged as the other to help each cope with the skeletons in their respective closets.

Incredible

This is my first book from this author but I loved every minute of it. There is so much to this story that it is hard to summarize. Lori Prince, as always, did a great job on the narration. Treat yourself and don't pass this one up

Awesome

Lori Prince has gone from average to one of the premier narrators or lesbian fiction.
Eliza could have easily made this highly melodramatic, but she didn’t, and kept it perfect. Painful, funny, romantic and sexy. Well done, Eliza. Well done.

Great!

I loved this book. It was very well written and kept me engaged all night while i was working 3rd shift. The narrator gave the story life and never got boring in her tone. I would seriously recommend this book to anyone. I hope they make the rest of the series into audio books as well.

loved. it

the story was actually very interesting but I don't know if the writer intentionally done this or not or it's just me cuz I was a big fan of the show but this were they reminded me of Emma and Regina the the characters to main characters remind me of Emma Regina from Once Upon a Time it just had that feel to it and maybe that's because I'm a big fan of Emma Regina I read a lot of fanfiction with those two characters.

so I'm very used to how they act around each other and they're somewhat Personalities in in this book of the two main characters fit that retired Marine kind of reminded me of Emma and the lawyer very much reminding me of Regina and that it made me even enjoy the book even more because I was making these similarities between these characters but other than that the book is great I mean you know you can't go wrong but it was a nice calmly sit back kind of book it does deal with emotions and day-to-day stuff and I thought it was really good wasn't really too big on the mystery crime hopefully in the other books.

we get a better crime case for the main characters to work on wasn't my favorite. part

but it still was entertaining so I will follow up with book 2 hopefully the rest of the series get on this audio so we can hear it audio I would prefer it that but in the meantime I will go and read the rest of them on Kindle it was a good book that's my thoughts though

Loved it

I loved the book and the narration did justice to it, the voice for Julia is perfect!
I hope the audiobook will be successful enough to turn the sequels into audio as well.
