About this listen
Told from multiple perspectives and laced with startling twists, Dogwood, by acclaimed author Chris Fabry, is an emotionally rich tale of suffering, sacrificial love, and redemption.
A single visit to a West Virginia prison can't resolve the tragic pasts of convicted child-killer Will Hatfield and his former sweetheart Karin. While she struggles with haunting regrets, Will vows to wait for her, no matter how long it takes.

The love of God and self sacrifice and self forgiveness which is incredibly hard to do!
Beautifully written and narrated! Must read to understand the level of forgiveness we all need to have. You never know what burden someone is carrying.

Excellent!
Loved the surprise ending. It wasn’t what I expected! My favorite books are those that aren’t predictable, and this one fits the bill.

Tragedy, Love, Forgiveness in Rural West Virginia
Deeply moving and mysterious, the tale of Will Hatfield, incarcerated for twelve years for the vehicular homicide of three little girls, and his love for Karin, his childhood and high school friend is one of the best books I've ever come across . . . Karin, having gone on with her life in the small town of Dogwood, West Virginia, married to a preacher and the mother of three children, is haunted by nightmares . . . Karin has one steadfast friend, Ruthie, who tries to help Karin make sense of her dreams . . . and even takes Karin to visit Will at the Clarkeston Federal prison . . . Upon Will's release from prison, he returns to Dogwood, attempting to make a life for himself . . . rejected and hated by the townspeople, and even the church, he finds little peace . . . drawing upon his childhood experiences with his dad, Will plunges forward, humbly and without malice towards his accusers . . . One of my favorite characters is the old man, (who took care of graveyard) and his dog . . . and the relationship that both Will and his father had with him . . . this book will stay with me a long time . . . as we all have ghosts in our past . . . we all need healing . . . and things are never quite as they appear on the outside . . . the ending to this book is perfect . . . just like God's timing in our lives . . .

Beautiful story
Slow start. I did predict most of the ending. well written though. It is a story of sacrificial love like we rarely see today.

I loved this book
I thought the narration was so good. This story shows that life is not perfect and people are definitely not perfect! But even in our imperfection, God offers hope. It was great from the very beginning to the very end.

Not bad
I reserve five stars for anything that I would listen to again. This one kept my attention, and I enjoyed it, but I would not
listen twice.
