Do Not Assume is a story exploring our age of genetic testing for the masses. Nicoleta wishes for information, and what she finds amazes her. Her genetic makeup is beyond unique.

Nicoleta doesn't know her information is being shared with others who have been searching for someone with her specially modified genes. Can she escape those who are seeking to capture her, use her in their inhuman experiments?

Native American security guard James Woodruff has his own special traits. His shaman grandfather has taught him how to handle his innate skills, but James left home before he learned what he now needs to know. Can he help Nicoleta in her quest?

SO TIMELY IT GIVES ME CHILLS

In light of the world's first genetically-modified embryo just last week by a Chinese scientist, the topic of this story is terrifyingly prescient. What the Nazis tried to do by breeding a 'super race' can now be done in a lab and the lid is off Pandora's box, that's for sure. It sure gives one pause! What if WWll had ended differently and the Nazis had time to carry out their gruesome plan? What if some of the babies born to the mothers in the lebensborn program survived? That is exactly the issue author Kasey Riley explores. Her story is fiction but has the chilling ring of reality. The seeds that were sown then are coming to fruition now, with the capability to edit out undesirable genetic traits....and splice in those that are desirable.

If you're gifted, somehow different from others, would it be possible your genes had somehow been modified? What if you're orphaned at birth and you have no idea what your actual heritage is? Wouldn't you want to know? What if you'd been adopted by a loving couple and had a safe, secure, comfortable home and a good education...would that be enough or would you still want to know?

That's the conundrum facing Nicoleta Parcells as she graduates from college. She's always been curious about the events surrounding her birth and how she ended up where she did. Her adoptive parents have given her the gift of a happy childhood but, now, they feel she is old enough to explore her origins and they give her a DNA test kit for graduation with their best wishes. Well, you know that old adage...be careful what you wish for!

This story will take you halfway around the world and keep you on the edge of your seat. I've always been an avid reader but hearing the words, having the story brought literally to life, gives the narrative a whole new dimension and I highly recommend the audiobook. The narrator's voice is clear and distinct and she reads with passion and feeling.
