Wow

I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review via audiobook boom. I loved the dual narration. But it was not the best. I am sure they will get better if they continue to work together. To be surrounded by debt and no way out is very hard and takes a toll but then the beauty steps in and wow she saves him and they fall in love. Okay! what's missing? Where is the back story? The bad boy loved his grandfather so that makes him a slightly bad boy. Her parents were just plain snobs. No one likes a snob. You can be rich and still not be a snob. I guess there are some people who just can't help thinking they are better than others because they have money. But in the end, you can't take it with you and then someone else is gonna spend it.

3 Dirty Stars

Hmm I liked the book but I didn't love it and that's ok right.. There are some great characters in this book. I liked the cougars.. I am so weird.. but they were funny, and fun. I just thought it was different.

Zane’s parents are in jail, and he needs to make money for medical bills and a mortgage.
So he dances, or I should say strips. But he also hooks to make ends meet.

Only he is having a hard time keeping his head in the game after he meets Ava.
Ava and Zane have the pull toward each other. Almost like the instalove.

Lots of sex, lots of drama, some laughs.

I found a lot of plot holes for me. I was confused I felt like Zane and Ava had known each other longer in some of the early dialog but then later on it was like they just meet. I don’t know it was hard to stay in the story.

The narration on this audio is good, not my favorite. But they did a good job bringing Ava and Zane to life.

SURPRISED!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes! I have already recommended this book to several of my friends that aren't even into this genre of books. One of them have already told me how surprised they were also on how much they like it and like myself, couldn't stop listening!

The plot was okay, but i really liked the dialogue which made up for it which is why i gave it 4 stars. Overall, I liked it!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Definitely Ava! Her voice is so manipulatingly sexy and fits her character perfectly! Zane's aggressive dominant style really hypes up the sex scenes.

What about Marcio Catalano and Ariel Kae ’s performance did you like?

Ariel's voice is amazing. I actually looked up more of her performances but couldn't find any. I hope she does more! Marcio's voice, i felt didn't fit the character much and was kind of monotone.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I admit, at first I was a little judgemental about trying out this audiobook. But once I checked it out, I couldn't stop listening. I actually listened to many parts multiple times to get everything out of it.

3.5 stars - for the story and the narration

The story pulled me in from the first paragraph. Very entertaining and enjoyable. Two people from completely different worlds collide and what happens when you meet "the one". Full of romance, heartache, regret, suspense, forgiveness, and a HEA. If you don't like sex in your books you need to pass on this one. This book is packed full of Very Hot and Steamy scenes.

While overall I enjoyed the story it could have been a great story but in the end it fell a bit short. Parts of the story just felt choppy. Like there were chapters missing. Although that just may have been the way the narration flowed. I listened twice and still couldn't completely make up my mind.

Basically don't judge someone until you've walked in their shoes you don’t know what their going through. You don’t know what makes people do the things they do. I'm not saying Zane isn't the typical guy that you think of when you think of Male strippers and the "lifestyle" some of them may lead but he has taken on that role for reasons that are personal to him and for a good cause. He never thought twice about his lifestyle choices until he meets Ava and realizes some of his choices may have a disastrous effect on his relationship with Ava.

Grandpa stole my heart. I have been in this situation myself.

She declares her love for him on their "first date". Really? He's worried he needs to get checked because of his after hours activities. Then the next minute he's kissing and having sex anyway. It was pretty easy to figure out who Oliver was.

Even with the "negatives" in my review I will continue with the series. It was an entertaining story that kept me listening straight through.

Narration the good and bad:

Good - Marcio Catalano does a pretty good job. Nice deep voice just what you want your bad boys to sound like. Nice smooth even pace. Good character voices. He was able to bring the emotion of the character to life.

Ariel Kae - Pleasant voice. Good character voices. She was able to convey Ava's emotions and bring them to life.

Bad - While I like the dual narration there are a couple of things I didn't like. The narration between the two did not flow smoothly. When they introduce the chapters they sound bored. Audio quality changes occasionally. Ariel Kae's parts sound more hollow/tinny. Her narration does not flow as smoothly as Marcio's parts do.

A surprising storyline!

4.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!!!

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. It had tones of Magic Mike but a way more intriguing storyline. Zane was HOT! Ava was sweet and totally surprised me the way her character evolved. I didn't initially like her because like everyone else, I thought she was a spoiled little rich girl.
The narrators were new to me and did an amazing job brining the characters to life. Marcio and Ariel will definitely be going on my "listen to" list of narrators.
I've only read a couple books from HJ but I can tell you now that I will be reading more especially Book 2 of this series. I have some unanswered questions.

This hero deserves a better heroine

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Only if they can handle a lot of judgmental and self absorbed characters who are petty.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I was irritated that Zane stayed Ava. They treated Zane horribly the entire book, and then all the sudden everyone is great and you are exapexted to be happy because he ended up getting what he wanted, even if I still can't figure out why he even wanted it to begin with.

Which character – as performed by Marcio Catalano and Ariel Kae – was your favorite?

Zane was great. Marcio Catalano added a genuine feel to Zane that despite his short comings you couldn't help but adore. The only thing I liked about Ava was Ariel Kae's performance. She did a great job, but she had a whining tone on some areas that really added to the awefulness that was Ava.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Horrible people, and one kinda messed up guy.

Zanes story was great, until Ava appeared. I have never disliked a heroine more,. Ava was petty down to the very end. The fact that she knew her condition on the end and still planned to leave because she couldn't get over things that happened before she met Zane was the final nail in her coffin for me. But after seeing how aweful and self centered her family was, I guess her horribleness makes sense, she was raised to be just as petty, judgmental, and selfish as they are. The only two characters worth anything was Zane and grandpa, everyone else just made me hate the book and the fact that a great hero had to be stuck with such a crap selection of people in his life including his love interest. Poor Zane. I received this audiobook from audiobook boom for free for my unbiased review.

(Beauty) "AVA AND THE GIGALO" (Beast)

Very good book.
Narration was professional and flowed well.
Story was close to a Beauty and the Beast scenario. Zane was caged into a desperate corner of debt. Ava stepped into his world. Magic happened.
Worth a credit!

HOT!!!

This book is emotional, heartbreaking, hot and is bound to make you fan yourself at times especially as it involves two dirty talkers.

Zane and Ava's story is great.

Marcio Catalano & Ariel Kae did a great job narrating.
