Ease your fears and embrace a caring, kind approach to looking after your loved one with dementia.
Has a parent or close family member been diagnosed with dementia, and you have no idea what happens next?
Are you worried about not having the knowledge you need to care for them properly and give them the quality of life they deserve?
Are you concerned about the impact that this could have on your own well-being as a caregiver?
Then keep listening…
There are an estimated 6.5 million people in the US who suffer from dementia—a statistic that is only anticipated to increase as time goes on.
As their condition worsens, patients become increasingly unable to care for themselves and have to rely on someone else, usually a loved one, to look after them.
As a caregiver, it can be incredibly intimidating and often anxiety-inducing to have so many responsibilities, and challenges thrust upon you.
Especially for those without any experience, caring for a loved one with dementia can be overwhelming—you don’t want the guilt of making mistakes.
This comprehensive guide will ease your worries and reassure you about everything you need to know to take care of your loved one as they progress through the stages of dementia.
Learn tips and tricks from an experienced author who will take you through all the important stuff—from diagnosis to end-of-life care.
In this guide, you will discover:
- Seven types of dementia, including their causes and symptoms, to prepare yourself for what happens next
- A succinct and useful guide to the diagnostic process
- Seven ways to combat behavior issues of any type
- Physical and psychological changes that could happen—and what do to if these become a problem
- Problem-solving strategies to help you manage sundowning, hallucinations, delusions, aggression, apathy, and more
- Information on making mealtimes easier and tips to help them eat properly—learn what they should be consuming in their diet to stay healthy, including a quick reference guide for finger foods
- What (and what not!) to say to someone with dementia—avoid behavioral problems and conflicts by learning these tips early on
- Tips on looking after your own health—don’t neglect your well-being, as a caregiver, you need some TLC too!
- Advice on long-term care solutions so you can have everything planned in advance to make those transitions easier to manage
- And much more.
You can still make a whole host of fantastic memories with your loved one. Make the best of your situation and give them the care they need to continue living a meaningful life.

Our families have a history of dementia and/or alzheimers so my wife and i decided to listen begin researching what that might look like for us in the future. With our population aging this issue will only get worse and worse.
While we listened to this book my wife and i found ourseleves feeling releif that we were preparing ahead of time for a potential that may happen (is very likely) in our relationship. Long term care solutions need proper planning and this book gives you all that. We particularly found the section on combating behavior issues to be eye opening. We both saw the behaviors outlined in our grandparents and never thought about how we would help. This is the area we found very interesting but there is so much more like how to make dinner time easier, not forgetting to take care of yourself, to how to handle the inevitable physical changes that will also occur.
Thank you for writing this great book. We highly recommend it.

It's the perfect resource for someone with a family member who has dementia - it covers the 7 types of dementia, what to expect, 7 ways to combat behavioral issues, and a whole lot more. I would never want to care for a loved one with Dementia without this reference - Highly Recommend!

I really appreciate the detailed explanations of the terminologies the 7 types of dementia, the differences between them, and the signs and symptoms. I found particularly impactful the section in Part III which covers self-care. Too often we overextend ourselves and it is nice to be reminded of the importance of accepting help from others, accessing respite, and taking time to look after ourselves. As everyone will at some time be a caregiver or be cared for, everyone should take hold of this information.
All you need to know as a caregiver
