About this listen

At 18-years-old, I made a promise with my best friend in high school. If neither one of us were married by age 32, we would marry each other. Now Miles Warner is back in town and wants to cash in on that promise we made all those years ago.

The fact that Miles is still unmarried and single baffles me. The young man I remembered from high school has grown into one of the most handsome men I’ve ever laid eyes on. And he refuses to take no for an answer. You see, he needs a bride, and I’m his last resort. Romantic, isn’t it?

Well, no thank you. That is not going to happen.

At least that’s what I keep telling myself. But as the days pass by and Miles settles back into life in our hometown, I find myself falling head over heels in love with him. Again.

What is the lesson I’ve learned, you ask?

Never make a promise you don’t intend to keep.

Delicate Promises is Book Two in the Southern Bride series and is a complete standalone novel.

Could of been great

This love story would of been beautiful if Kenzie had acted 30 and not 2. She throws tantrums demands things of Miles, but refuses to actually hear a damn thing he says. Miles should of just spoke his mind, but again Kenzie acts like a spoiled toddler, she is mean and nasty. She is Whiney and immature. I’m glad it all turns out, but to me she doesn’t deserve Miles.

I can’t stand them

I don’t usually do this, but I am reviewing before I finish the book...because I can’t wait any longer to say how much both of these characters piss me off. First I thought I just disliked HIM because he is so stupid to think that his ridiculous tactics are how somebody should act..,but now I really dislike HER also because of her attitude. I can understand her frustration, but she comes off bratty. I’m gonna keep listening because I feel like it could be good, but getting there is hard. Every single one of their friends contributes to speak truth and rational thought to them and they continue to disregard. It’s tiring to listen to and to see it continue to get worse with them.

Narrators don’t do this story favors

It’s a really cute story, but the narrators make it really hard to want to listen to the end. As a native Texan, it is painfully obvious they aren’t from the Lone Star State. The male reader does not feel like the he was matched well for the character.

So very shallow!

Stopped listening at chapter 5. Might have stopped sooner but i kept hoping the book would get better. I liked the previous book in the series. This book wasn't a book i could invest anymore time in.

drawn out, boring

story started out good but it was drawn out.. seeming to repeat their actions. I skipped several chapters and was able to still understand what was going on. The guy sounded like Forest Gump at times. I usually love Kelly's books but this one is not a favorite for me
