About this listen
All is quiet, or is it? What looks to be a large PerSian invasion fleet is on the edge of Demeter space and the Saggitarian Armada that is supposed to defend Demeter leaves port. This leaves Ryder and his team in a struggle to find a way of defending Demeter with the scraps left behind by the armada. Meanwhile a secret lurks in the inner tunnels of Demeter that could either save or destroy the planet, and explain the attempts on the team's lives. Will the team be able to find the answers it needs and resources in time to save Demeter from complete Destruction?

Unforgettable Worldbuilding
Demeter feels like a real, lived-in place. The author does a fantastic job of painting the world and its politics without overloading the reader. I was immersed from start to finish, especially intrigued by the secret beneath the surface.

Action, Mystery, and Strategy Combined
This book delivers a perfect balance of action-packed space battles, mysterious discoveries, and strategic problem-solving. Ryder’s creativity in assembling a defense with "scraps" is inspiring, and the lurking secret adds a layer of suspense. A thrilling continuation of the *Orion's Spur* series that doesn’t disappoint!

A Refreshing Take on Sci-Fi Conflict
Instead of flashy space fights, this book gives us a grounded look at desperation, teamwork, and survival. The absence of the main fleet raises the stakes, and Ryder's ingenuity shines. Fans of tactical sci-fi and mystery will enjoy this one.

Great Blend of Action and Mystery
I loved how the author balanced military tension with an unfolding mystery within Demeter’s tunnels. The suspense builds as Ryder tries to uncover the secret while scrambling for defenses. It's not just another space battle — it's a smart, layered story.

A Complex and Engaging Plot
This book is a masterpiece of interstellar conflict and mystery. The Saggitarian Armada's departure creates a nail-biting scenario, leaving Ryder and his team to defend Demeter with limited resources. The subplot of the mysterious tunnels is cleverly woven, keeping you guessing until the end. This is one of the best volumes in *Orion's Spur* yet!
