About this listen

Ten-year-old Chris’ request to see Santa again takes Dave by surprise. He’s a little old for that, surely? But Dave will do anything to put a smile on his son’s face. Except when they get there, Santa is the one to make Dave smile. He’s pretty sure there’s a gorgeous man hiding beneath that white beard. And those eyes...not that Dave gets a chance to even say hello. Chris tells Dave to stay back. Well, Christmas is a time for secrets, right?

Jeff loves playing Santa. That cute kid with the huge eyes - and the hot-looking dad - just surprised the hell out of him. Jeff hears all kinds of strange requests during the holiday season. But this one beats them all - even if it takes a little coaxing to get it out of the kid.

This story is really a sweet meet where a child's wish leads to so much more. I like how the feelings are all real despite the start. Feelings are fast in this story but it fits the whole holiday season vibe. I listened to the audio version which I enjoyed very much.

Dave is a widower, he lost his husband three years back and is not really thinking about dating again, though his grief is easing a bit. His main focus his 10-years-old son, Chris.
Only Chris is not of the same mind, he wants to see his Dad happy and smiling again; that’s why he asks Santa for a new boyfriend for his dad.
Santa, or Jeff, as it is, is speechless when he sees the beautiful man with the sad eyes with the cute kid who’s making the selfless request, and later, a chance encounter out of the Santa suit leads to them striking up a conversation, and an immediate mutual interest ensues.
Chris’s and both men’s sisters matchmaking schemes help things along and soon the Christmas magic strikes in full force in this cute, sweet, low-angst story!

📖 Story comment: Cute, heart-warming Christmas story: low drama, sweet story, good pace, likeable characters, nice flow. ... what more can you ask for 😊

Good book for a lazy Sunday. A little predictable, but that's OK, most Christmas stories are - I still enjoyed it though. The characters are entertaining and their story gave me all the appropriate "feels" - It has all the elements for a warm and fuzzy Christmas story.

🎧 Narrator comment: I enjoyed Seb Yarrick's narration and think he's done a good job narrating Dear Santa. His expressiveness voicing Chris was delightful, I had no problem distinguishing the characters and his rhythm, inflections and intonations all worked to bring the book to life.
