Story
From the internationally acclaimed best-selling author of Code Name Verity comes a stunning new story of pearls, love and murder. Sixteen-year-old Julie Beaufort-Stuart is returning to her family's ancestral home in Perthshire for one last summer. It is not an idyllic return to childhood. Her grandfather's death has forced the sale of the house and estate, and this will be a summer of good-byes. Not least to the McEwen family - Highland travellers who have been part of the landscape for as long as anyone can remember.

Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Dear Enemy!
Definitely a wonderful read, I am always looking for stories like this! The only thing that I was kinda disappointed in was how it ended, I wish there was a more certain conclusion, but don’t let that from you from listening to this book!

excellent
This was a wonderful book. It's main characters are soldiers during WWII, just on opposite sides. This book to me is all about finding love where you least expect it and how we should always forgive others because that is what God does for us. Highly recommended

Beautifully Crafted Story
I loved it. It made me laugh, then cry, then laugh again. The story was like real life. Like a movie. It was filled with so much hope, so much faith, and so much action amd adventure. I read the whole thing through and when it ended I had a smile on my face.

Loved it!
The character I liked best was the German soldier. The interplay between him and the American nurse was handled so well. There are many moments when the reader is caught up in heart-pounding danger, but this book is SO MUCH MORE than your average danger-filled war novel. It is about forgiveness, overcoming prejudice and gaining freedom from bitterness. This is a truly memorable read.

Christian Love Goes Above and Beyond
This is an unusual WW2 romance story involving a US Army surgical nurse and Werhmacht soldier who first meet during a combat event in the Battle of the Bulge. Events that bring them together would normally be expected to elicit long-lasting mutual hatred. Subsequent events and circumstances and common love of music and religion eventually draw them into mutual caring and emotional interdependence that neither is quite willing to consciously call love. The story ends with the two meeting after the war at a gravesite to explore their possibilities.
