About this listen

Burning debris littering the ground... smoke pluming in the acrid air... this is just the beginning if he fails.

Seven years ago, operative Luke Gallagher vanished to become part of an elite team set on capturing a deadly terrorist. When Luke returns to face those he left behind, their help becomes his only hope of stopping his target's latest threat of an attack that would shake America to its core.

Private investigator Kate Maxwell never stopped loving or looking for Luke after he disappeared. But she also never imagined he left her or his life by choice. Now he's back, and together they must unravel a twisting thread of secrets, lies, and betrayal, all while on the brink of a biological disaster.

Will they and their love survive, or will Luke and Kate become the terrorist's next mark?

An exciting end to a great series

I have loved Dani Pettrey’s entire Chesapeake Valor series and was not disappointed by the ending! The narrator has done a fantastic job with this entire series and really brought the different characters to life. Luke story was a everything I’d hoped it would be and I can’t wait to see what’s next from Pettrey.

Better Character development

I have listened to this series and the earlier books left me wanting more information on the characters. This book went into more. I liked how each character relied on the power of God. (This is a Christian based romantic suspense.).
This time the group faces their most deadly, evil, & cunning adversary. Plus a second plot is interwoven throughout the story.
I recommend this book.

Lost but not forgotten!

Amazing! Fantastic way to end the series and this book was all and more than I expected. I loved how so many of the storylines from the first three books were concluded in this one. Dani has out done herself with this book. I loved how Luke and Kate's story came together in this book and how God was present and active in their lives, even though Luke had drifted away from his first loves, The Lord and Kate. Such a beautiful yet difficult story. Therese Plummer did an amazing job with these books with the accents and such feeling. It made the book come alive for me!

Dani’s best work yet ...

This final installment in the Chesapeake Valor series does not disappoint. From beginning to end it’s a perfect balance of action, suspense romance, humor & faith. As always, Therese Plummer does a fabulous job bringing the book to life. My husband & I listen to many books and this series (especially this last book) is absolutely the best!!

Christian principles throughout

It is nice to see an author have a character whose Christian principles go beyond referencing casual church attendance when at home to actually attending church while out of town.
Couple that with an intense story line makes for worthwhile reading.

Excellent end to a series

As a Christian, I love the option of romance, intrigue, and God. The pace of the story from book one to four was on point. The absence of graphic sex scenes and foul language are a plus. This is my first time reading this author. It will not be my last and I will recommend.

I have really enjoyed listening to each book of the Chesapeake Valor series by Dani Pettrey. The characters are familiar throughout the series, but the story focuses on a particular group of characters in the various books.
The narrator also does a good job reading and creating each character.
Pettrey’s villains are evil and commit horrible acts, especially the antogonists in the second and the fourth book.
Biblical truths are interwoven throughout the series.
