About this listen

In an instant, everything stops. No lights. No phones. No transportation.

When an EMP attack wipes out the nation’s power grid and communications, college freshman Maddie Langston is forced to run for her life.

Stranded in a Chicago airport when the lights go out, Maddie is in a race against time. According to her father, she doesn’t have long before the city descends into chaos. She must leave the airport before it is too late.

The perilous journey out of the city becomes even more complicated when Maddie takes responsibility for an orphaned ten-year-old girl. Together, as chaos fills the streets, they must fight to survive in a Turbulent new world.

Maddie’s brother Zach has his own battles to fight as he struggles to get home to his family.

On the road to reunite with Maddie and Zach, Beth’s trip takes a twisted turn, but she won’t let anything prevent her from reaching her children.

Days of Want is a high-octane, post-apocalyptic, EMP thriller series.

Loved this Story

I love these books and the other intertwined stories that go along with them. My only complaint is how they seem to abruptly end. Occasionally, the action is a bit much and I have to take a break. It’s exhausting reading about the end of the world sometimes 🤣🤣 Would definitely recommend!

superbly entertaining

I love the realism of this series and how it takes into account the staggering physical and mental strain of a world event of this magnitude

I was able to connect with characters.

the last book was a little complicated to follow but my previous investment in the characters kept me engaged.

Good story line

I like the story. There are times when I get tired that it seemed the teenager come up with most the solutions.
A lot of time anyone over 20 seemed to be clueless on how things worked they would take order from the teens.
But all and all the story was entertaining.

Decent story…..luck

These characters perhaps are more “realistic” than some. I say that because they aren’t perfectly tactical all the time. They are however lucky, lucky, lucky. Over and over again they make stupid mistakes which is frustrating. But they get by.

The story jumps a bit much leaving out what could be interesting stories.

Awesome Story

Awesome story. Would love for more books in this series that entails Maddie’s growth in the military and with Jacob and Emma.

story was great but had inconsistencies

the story was great!! ill listen to it again and suggest it for others to read. there were some inconsistencies... like I'm not sure how Rank went from in his mid-to-late 20's to "pushing 40" in a couple books when the timeframe between books wasn't even a year...
the performance was good; and although he tried to have different voices, they all sounded the same, and there wasn't a lot of emotion; but it was still a good performance (4 stars) and i would listen to him again over many, many other performers.

Worth a listen.

Good characters reasonably believable. Some scenarios would make me huff some.
Kevin Pierce is the absolute best, that was one of the reasons I stuck it out.
