About this listen

One day, the power goes off and the world falls silent. And in two very different parts of America, two very different nightmares are about to begin.

In Manhattan, Elizabeth and her brother Henry are all alone in their parents' apartment. Looking out the window, they can see the carnage slowly spreading through the city. But as hopes fade for their parents to come back, Elizabeth and Henry discover that dangers might already have entered the building.

Meanwhile, in Oklahoma, Thomas and his family live on an isolated farm. They too have noticed that something has changed, and a chance encounter on a deserted road leads to a moment of pure horror. An infection is spreading, and soon more victims begin to fall.

Meh

I won't say it's bad, I'll just say it's not good. STOP!! Rewind. What did he just say? Meters? Nope!! What supposedly bad azz USA country boy uses "meters" to describe distance? None that I know of. Research isn't too hard to do nowadays. The female voice acting is bad. The guy should have read the whole book. The bad part is I'm not even halfway done. I'm only going to finish the book for the comedic value at this point.

No New Yorker Is That Dumb.

Zero street smarts. You can’t tell me that a 21 year old woman raised in New York would be that simple. I know 6 year olds in my building with more self- preservation. And the female narrator is terrible.

I would have been mad if I had used a credit

I'm listening to a lot of books in the audible plusses section lately, and hung on out of just running out of free post apocalyptic to listen to, and I've decided to quit in the third book. I kept thinking it might get better, and they're free, but I never would have started the second book if it wasn't free.

the characters are just so unbelievable. the premise was a different take on the zombie thing, and I was kind of interested to learn more about how that plays out, but the characters are exceptionally stupid if they're one of the good guys, and stupidly psychotic/psychopathic/evil if they're one of the bad guys, with a 50/50 ratio of good guys/bad guys.

If you can get past the voice acting…

If you can get past the voice acting then it’s a good book. The female voice actor makes a 21 year old female sound like a 6 years old and the male voice actor’s southern accent is insulting to all people with southern accents. I think these voice actors are great if they didn’t do those stupid accents. I cringe every time the female talks and roll my eyes every time the male actor talks. It takes away from the story-which is pretty good I might add.

WHO wrote this???

First of all, what was this book even about????! These two story aren't even Remotely connected, and I don't see how they could be. Elizabeth was written as 21, however she acted like a HS teenager. She was so naïve and immature, her character made this book unbearable. Her brother Henry was a self entitled spoiled brat who acted a lot younger than 16 years old. I don't know why the author made them "older", but gave them juvenile like characteristics.

I could go on about the flaws of each individual character, but you get the point. This author did not do these characters justice, I'm sorry to say. And the way she dropped the F-Bomb!!!! So unnecessary for just about Every character to cuss to the extent that they did. It was as if the author wanted them to appear tough, and the Only way to achieve that was to have them curse like a sailor! #TotalFail

poor writing, poor reading, overall blah

who wrote this book and what research was done? both readers were terrible and the overall vibe of this book is RL meets mad magazine. The author needs to focus on quality over quantity.

This book should never have been published

The language in this book was full of F bombs. The story line didn't make sense. Probably the worst book I have ever came across.
