While the problems are pervasive and insidious, they are also solvable! As Tom Redman "the Data Doc" explains in Getting in Front on Data, the secret lies in getting the right people in the right roles to "get in front" of the management and social issues that lead to bad data in the first place.

Today we think statistics are the enemy, numbers used to mislead and confuse us. That’s a mistake, Tim Harford says in The Data Detective. We shouldn’t be suspicious of statistics - we need to understand what they mean and how they can improve our lives: they are, at heart, human behavior seen through the prism of numbers and are often “the only way of grasping much of what is going on around us”.

Nick Bostrom lays the foundation for understanding the future of humanity and intelligent life. The human brain has some capabilities that the brains of other animals lack. It is to these distinctive capabilities that our species owes its dominant position. If machine brains surpassed human brains in general intelligence, then this new superintelligence could become extremely powerful - possibly beyond our control.

It has never been easier for organizations to gather, store, and process data. Use of data science is driven by the rise of big data and social media, the development of high-performance computing, and the emergence of such powerful methods for data analysis and modeling as deep learning. Data science encompasses a set of principles, problem definitions, algorithms, and processes for extracting non-obvious and useful patterns from large datasets.

Best if accompanied with the physical book.
Great information for anyone that is responsible for the data function within their organization. This book is a roadmap with room for detours. I appreciate the fact that the authors did not dive into specific technologies but rather the processes and the people.
A recommendation.... if you are considering this audiobook, purchase the physical book to accompany it. You will want to refer back to the ideas as you proceed with your transformation. I absorb best when listening while reading so the combination worked well for me.

Audio book needs to be complemented with diagrams
Good information, after a slow start, this really picks up with some great stuff after Chapter 4 when they talk about the methods and models and launch into data strategy.
However note that the lack of supplemental information illustrating the diagrams, charts and tables ( in this audiobook) severely constrains the usefulness. The print or digital editions have over 25+ illustrations that are extremely important to the content matter, and if you want to do justice to your time and the content presented here, you need access to one of the above.
Highly recommend to the audiobook publishers to release a PDF of the same.
