Publisher's summary

In this age of prophetic strife, spiritual darkness collides with servants of the Cross. Christians worldwide are persecuted at a heightened level, and while no safety seems to exist, one man steps forward to lend a hand to the defenseless laborers. Corban Dowler, an old-school spy, accepted Christ's gift of salvation six years ago, then resigned from the morally compromising C.I.A.. He now desires to help fulfill God's Great Commission, so builds the Commission of International Laborers (COIL) organization, and devotes his skills and resources to assist persecuted or kidnapped Christian servants in the most dangerous environments worldwide.

At times, Corban Dowler must hastily extract missionary families and Christian workers from danger zones before death steals them from their righteous work. He develops commando-style teams using non-lethal weapons to extract the threatened or persecuted servants of the Lord. These covert multiethnic teams are ex-military or ex-CIA, and all believers in Christ. Satan is every bit the adversary as he operates through his demonic workers of iniquity, set on claiming the lives of the righteous that stand for Truth. While COIL is working tirelessly to rescue Christians in need, Satan's followers are placing roadblocks, destroying, and kidnapping to thwart the efforts of COIL. The operatives find themselves prey to the very wickedness that they are committed to fight, and a battle between good and evil emerges.

What a Mighty God we serve!

Absolutely awesome story on how through people submitted to Him, no matter who or what comes against them, Jesus will never leave us undefended

Thrilling Adventure

Once this book took off, it was non-stop action. I can only imagine the impact this organization could make if it were real. I can't wait to read all the books in this series. If you love action, adventure, and international intrigue, this author's style is for you.

Eye-opener!

This book opens up not only the reality to the persecuted in Christ but the harsh treatment, brutality, violation that they endure in a world that has no God. Gives you much to think about in regards to individual blessing and how we take for granted our position in Christ. Thank you D I Telbat for writing this and the other books in this series...it really conveys the message about helping your brothers and sisters in Christ and the ways that we as Christians can help one another.

Unbelievable made believable by retired SF soldier

Where does Dark Liaison rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

on top with the better Clancy and Griffin reminds me of Joel Rosenberg

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Not quite that good, a little predictable for me likely due to my work history.

Have you listened to any of Cameron Beierle’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

one of the best

Who was the most memorable character of Dark Liaison and why?

Corbin, likely his leadership style and his multiple skills. His dedication to Christ as were all the team members.

Any additional comments?

Very entertaining both in operations which were quite accurate as well as the scripture also accurate.

too slow

The narrator was too slow and plodding. The author is good but I couldn't get into the story through the narration.

Hard to listen to...

What disappointed you about Dark Liaison?

It was hard to follow, jumps around too much from character to character. Maybe it would have been easier if the narriorater was better.

Has Dark Liaison turned you off from other books in this genre?

Maybe, have his next book in my wish list, but not sure I will purchase it.

Would you be willing to try another one of Cameron Beierle’s performances?

No. He is to monotones, sounds like his voice is done through a synthesizer.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Dark Liaison?

I don't know.

Any additional comments?

I think maybe the book would be better as a made-for-TV movie. Maybe if you had a visual to all of the skipping around it would help keep all the characters straight. I like to climb inside the book with the characters. I just couldn't do that with this, because I didn't know who or where the characters were. I read for entertainment, I don't want to have to work so hard to keep everybody figured out. It just didn't flow for me, but I'm only one person, I'm sure others may enjoy this kind of writing. Not a bad book, but for me it was just hard to follow.
