Publisher's summary

New paranormal romance from best-selling MM authors Charlie Cochet and Macy Blake.

A grumpy lion shifter duke with secrets, a sassy human who knows nothing of the shifter world, and a fiery arrangement neither of them expected.

Cormac Donegan, Duke of Everard, is all too familiar with the perils of his shifter world, especially as a Dahlia, one of the dragon king’s elite spies. After a mission nearly costs him his life, Cormac is sidelined, healing and grieving his heavy losses. Then a different kind of trouble shows up on his doorstep: a human claiming to be his fiancé.

When Jason Reaves is nearly killed in a house fire, it becomes clear that someone is trying to murder him. With his already fragile health deteriorating, Jason’s only hope is to call in the debt a stranger owes his father—a favor that promises safety, protection...and marriage.

Jason’s escape leads him and his service dog, Mouse, to an impressive country estate. He’s expecting the older man who’d made the promise, not his ruggedly handsome son—who happens to be a Duke, as in rich and royal.

Will this Cinderfella find his happily ever after in the arms of a dashing—if somewhat irritable—duke? Or will Cormac’s secrets prove to be more dangerous than the shifters hunting him?

Great characters but mystery plot has issues

This book should come with a trigger warning for medical issues and on page description of attacks that are similar to anxiety attacks.

I love the characters in this book and series but the underlying mystery and the actions of the 'secret spies' are unrealistic and pretty ridiculous. The things they do and the cover stories they have are like 13 year olds coming up with what they think awesome spy actions would be. So read for the romance and character interactions and don't expect much from the mystery side.

I love the hidden world of shifters among humans. I’m very pleased a 3rd book is coming out in February.

Same great snarky humor, fun RomCom!

When I saw this second book had been posted to audible I went back and re-listened to the Notorious just to refamiliarize myself with the storyline and characters. I finish 2-3 books a week so I couldn't remember exactly what the storyline had been except that I really liked the book and I had wished there were more in the series.
when I saw Dangerous on Audible, it was an automatic buy for me but I couldn't start this book right away since I was in the middle of another series.
----Book Review & potential spoilers----
As far as this book, hopefully you've read Notorious ecause this might be a spoiler if not...
the 2 MC aren't featured in this book but they make appearances here and there. What I found really refreshing is the authors incorporated a MC with a medical condition/disability and the other MC not only embraced it but found ways to comfort and reassure him without making it 'the whole story line' because, yeah, a person's condition does not define that person's identity.
I LOVE how they incorporated it into the story but didn't make it "THE" story. You handled something other authors struggle with balancing in the storyline. Awesome job! Kudos to you!! 👏
Overall, I loved being back in this shifter world and can't wait until the next installment. Hopefully we'll get to check in on Saphir's little sister...?

Love this series!

I'm so in love with Jason it's ridiculous 🤣 The writing had me completely absorbed into the story and the narration was outstanding! Jason at the "end of May ball" had me laughing so hard I was in tears! I can't wait for the next book to release!

love it

I loved this book! I admit I didn't like it as much as Book 1 but it's still fabulous. I'm curious about book 3. I am hoping there are more than three. I don't know how everything is going to tie up in one book.

Amazing!

5 stars (I rarely rate a book with 5 stars.)

While I liked the first book, this one was amazing! I wasn’t confused by excessive use of Royal and nobility titles and I finally got a better idea of how the shifting worked. I loved the excitement and action. Jason was my favorite character and it was easy to understand the public’s attraction to him.

This book can easily be read as a standalone.

The narrator was great.

And the characters come to life

I read the book and enjoyed it. It was entertaining, but then I listened to the audio and the characters jumped into life and I loved it. The way the characters were voiced was spot on, even Jason's trouble breathing and close to fainting episodes. Sillian's sneers became super high-class. I found myself actually laughing out loud at Jason's highjinks and smart mouth. Definitely worth a listen.

Great Story

I liked the plot and the narrator. I read the story before purchasing the audio book and I liked both.
I would HIGHLY recommend this audiobook to a friend
