Publisher's summary

Janet Evanovich, number-one New York Times best-selling author of the Stephanie Plum series, teams up with Emmy-winning writer Phoef Sutton for a brand-new series of mysteries featuring Emerson Knight and Riley Moon, a dynamic duo with instant and undeniable chemistry.

Emerson Knight is introverted and eccentric and has little to no sense of social etiquette. Good thing he's also brilliant, rich, and (some people might say) handsome, or he'd probably be homeless.

Riley Moon has just graduated from Harvard Business and Harvard Law. Her aggressive Texas spitfire attitude has helped her land her dream job as a junior analyst with megabank Blane-Grunwald. At least Riley Moon thought it was her dream job, until she is given her first assignment: babysitting Emerson Knight.

What starts off as an inquiry about missing bank funds in the Knight account leads to inquiries about a missing man, missing gold, and a life-and-death race across the country. Through the streets of Washington, DC, and down into the underground vault of the Federal Reserve in New York City, an evil plan is exposed. A plan so sinister that only a megalomaniac could think it up, and only the unlikely duo of the irrepressibly charming Emerson Knight and the tenacious Riley Moon can stop it.

Awesome

Janet Evanovich always writes stories that make me laugh, hold my breath a moment and genuinely entertains. I always anticipate her next release and mark my calendar to remind myself. By far my favorite author. I own over 600 audible books in my library and she has always been the go to author when I want to just unwind!

Could've Been Better

Narrator too enunciated. Story uninspiring and full of company name drops like Starbucks, Pepsi, etc.

Way too "deus ex machina"

Totally unbelievable, not unlike a romance novel where a young, pretty girl lawyer meets a quirky BILLIONAIRE and then there is a life threatening chase cross country

Pure entertainment!

This is a summer at the beach book that can be enjoyed any time of the year. I have read at least 25 books by this author. This is one of my favorites. Lorelei King is, by far, my preferred reader. Enjoy!

It was cute and amusing. Nothing special here but entertaining like most Evanovich novels. I enjoyed it.
