When you return from a work trip to find your husband dead in the pond, it’s best not to call him a liar and a cheat in front of the cops. Especially when you’ve spent the last few years telling anyone who’ll listen that you sometimes fantasize about killing him. It makes you look kind of, well, guilty.

We moved from Minnesota to a beautiful house in the English countryside. A year away was meant to be the perfect fresh start. As soon as we arrive, I get a bad vibe. Despite the charming period features, the house is dark and cold. When the taxi driver pulls away, he warns us: 'whatever you do, don't believe the rumours.' Our first morning there, Rob brings me croissants in bed and I think maybe this will work, maybe we can be happy here. Then it begins. Strange noises coming from the woods. In the garden, I feel like I'm being watched. Then I see him. The little boy.

Story
When you return from a work trip to find your husband dead in the pond, it’s best not to call him a liar and a cheat in front of the cops. Especially when you’ve spent the last few years telling anyone who’ll listen that you sometimes fantasize about killing him. It makes you look kind of, well, guilty.

Story
We moved from Minnesota to a beautiful house in the English countryside. A year away was meant to be the perfect fresh start. As soon as we arrive, I get a bad vibe. Despite the charming period features, the house is dark and cold. When the taxi driver pulls away, he warns us: 'whatever you do, don't believe the rumours.' Our first morning there, Rob brings me croissants in bed and I think maybe this will work, maybe we can be happy here. Then it begins. Strange noises coming from the woods. In the garden, I feel like I'm being watched. Then I see him. The little boy.

It only took a moment for everything to go wrong. In the blink of an eye, the birthday party became a nightmare when we heard the screams… How did this happen? And who is to blame? I’m so happy as I walk to pick up my son from the party. It’s his first since we moved here, and I know he’s found it hard settling in. Just as I’ve found it hard to make friends among the mothers at the school gates. But as I turn the corner, my heart stops. Instead of the picture-perfect birthday party I left earlier, there’s an ambulance.

My partner Aaron and I soon doted on her and our teenage boys took quite a liking to her, too. But that was before I found my sensitive son Jacob comforting Rachel, tears running down her frightened face. They wouldn’t tell me what was wrong, and soon afterwards, Rachel fell from her bedroom window.

Emma Caan is a fake. She’s a forger, an artist who specializes in nineteenth-century paintings. But she isn’t a criminal; her copies are commissioned by museums and ultra-wealthy collectors protecting their investments. Emma’s more than mastered a Gauguin brushstroke and a van Gogh wheat field, but her work is sometimes a painful reminder of the artistic dreams she once chased for herself, when she was younger and before her family and her world fell apart.

A Tangled web of deceit
This book was incredible!! First, I would highly recommend it for the more mature audience as there is plenty of adult content. This book was so good and the narration was amazing that I hated stopping for breaks. The intricacies between all of the neighbors and the dynamics are hard to follow at times and mind boggling. The story just continues to build as the story gets deeper and deeper into a tangled web with secrecy, lust, and deceit. My only criticism is that it seems as if the book ended abruptly for how much of the story line was built up. The ending was absolutely surprising for me and caught me off guard. I love the bit of mystery and suspense! I can’t wait to read/listen to more from this author!

Intriguing
I really liked this audiobook! The narrator was fantastic—her voice made the story come alive, and I felt totally immersed in it. What really grabbed me was the way the story slowly revealed the secrets of the neighborhood. It kept me guessing about what was really going on, and I couldn’t stop listening. Definitely a great pick if you enjoy a story with twists and a bit of mystery!

Would you buy a house where someone died?
No matter how hard you search for the perfect home, you must also be just as diligent in researching your neighbors! This is the story of Michael and Amelia buying their first home, in the perfect area, chosen for prestige. After being invited to a BBQ at the Cul de Sac matriarch and patriarch’s home to meet the neighbors NOTHING is as it seems.
The characters are complex and well developed and no one writes a good gut clinch like Liz Crowe. Cul de Sac is not a romance but there is a sexual undertone in this psychological thriller. This book is a roller coaster ride with twists and turns and an unexpected killer.
I started this book with my eyes (kindle) and finished it with my ears (Audible). The reader was fantastic and the book credit worthy!

What is your neighborly pleasure?
This juicy little mystery will defiantly keep you up at night and in a good way. This story follows four swinging neighbors. All different ethnic groups, different age groups, different home lives but with similar sexual intentions. Basically everyone is doing everyone. The cul-de-sac is going through a rough patch. They have lost one of their neighbors to suicide. The neighbors speculate that Mr. Franks killed himself because he ended up getting his neighbor, not his wife, pregnant. And couldn't deal with it. After the funeral the family moves away, the house goes up for sale. New neighbors move in with their own kind of kink. But the neighbors invite them to join in their sex parties and every thing seems next to normal. Until Mrs. Franks decides to look into her husbands death and clues start to surface about maybe his death was a murder instead. I liked how author Liz Crowe brought in all cultures, kinks and a very good plot. At first I wasn't sure what I was listening to. But the build up to the murder and who did it was skillfully done. I didn't like how judgmental the original women where and their alpha female teeth barring attitudes but saw the necessity for the story. It made me cringe sometimes with what they would say to each other.
I liked this book it was fun to listen too. Traci Odom did a excellent job narrating. She chose different voices, tones and accents for the characters. Perfect pitch and right amount of pause time. This is for a very mature group. It was entertaining and fun.
