About this listen
Uriel is having a bad day.
Ambushed by pirates, the legendary Valiant finds herself wrecked and alone on a hostile planet.
Bairn is having a bad day.
Lost on some strange, backwater planet, this inexperienced adventurer finds himself at death's door, surrounded by strange beasts and monsters.
Together, these two must join forces to survive on this unforgiving planet. Which means Uriel must take the inexperienced Bairn under her wing and try to level the fool up before he gets the two of them killed. Can the two set aside their differences to overcome secrets of their pasts and new, overwhelming enemies to conquer the Wild Worlds?

I like litrpg
That being said, I believe I rate these a bit higher than some because I just enjoy them so much. I was not really happy with the narrator at first but he grew on me. Story was pretty straight forward. There was some growth in the characters and a little possible consequence of letting someone live. I hope the author fleshes out these wild world's so I can see how wild they are and continue with even better characters and their dramatic lives. Thank you for an enjoyable book.

The N00b and The Hero
By defenition the subtitle: Crash Course summizes the plot of the protagnoist as he's thrust into a world full of dangers beyond his leagues. I thought i was a fun and light hearted (yet grim at times) tale of triumph and redemption. That I am eager to hear a sequel for.
The performance on the aurirators end was magnificent and I'd enjoy hearing him read the subsequint sequels.
Mitch Larkins is a phenomnal writer and strong story teller. He created something very special with this very strong first step into a genre that desperately needs fresh air. Mitch brings that to the table and elevates it with interesting characters, dialogue and world building.

An exciting intro to the world
I love RPGs, but I've never read any litRPG or anything similar. I've always kept it to my gaming. After listening to this book, though, I feel like I've been missing out! Following Bairn's training with Uriel was fun and often funny, too. The dynamic between the two kept me engaged in the story and the hints at her level kept me intrigued and curious about her. I have to say, too, that it was awesome getting a new perspective on high and low level characters when seen as actual people and not just...you know..."characters." The monsters were unique enough to be new but their level and skills against the Valiants were reminiscent of monsters I've fought in countless games myself, so they gave it a familiar, nostalgic feel. I love the way this book set it up for an entire universe in the coming books, and I'm excited to see where things lead. I've heard some litRPG can get stat-heavy, but thankfully this book doesn't. It includes enough of the stats and spells and skills to keep the readers informed of everything but not so much that it's distracting. All in all I liked it and I'm ready for book 2!
