The Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East consists of desolate plains and inhospitable mountain ranges. In a dark corner of the barren land, a horrifying game takes place.
Black Force operative Jason King arrives in the dead of night, determined to uncover why a party of international relief workers vanished from a rural village. Fearing the worst, he tracks them to an abandoned gold mine and uncovers a web of corruption deep below the volcanoes of Kamchatka.
The mine is under the control of Vadim Mikhailov, a hulking ex-KGB executioner who will do anything to protect his lucrative operation. As always, King is prepared for carnage - but this time, the raging action pushes him to his limits.

Corrupted is a standalone novel, but it ends in a semi-incomplete situation setting up Book 6. Corrupted is brutally violent and has over-the-top suspense of the type that can cause some authors to forget the plot to focus on action instead. Author Matt Rogers passes that test by staying with the excellent plot. Roger Wayne does a nice job of narrating as usual.
Will Slater saves Jason King...again!

Okay, wow! This one was the best so far. It was about a group of workers in a freezing part of Russia who were kidnapped and Jason King was sent in to find out what happened. It was supposed to be done quickly and quietly but that didn't happen. I can't even tell you how many bad guys Jason Killed, or how badly he was hurt before it all ended; a broken nose, and broken wrist, a broken rib or two and so many bumps and bruises it was uncountable.
Definitely no romance and the F-bomb was used 33 times.
As for the narration: As usual, Roger Wayne was awesome.
Totally wonderfully exciting..

In this book Jason's handler contacts him while he's recuperating from injuries sustained during his last mission. She gives him an assignment but doesn't tell him that it's a personal assignment for her and not sanctioned. When the mission goes awry, Jason goes rogue and decides to complete it anyway. Jason comes up against a formidable opponent and with out assistance from a friend he may not have survived. He survives only to face an even larger opponent, the United States.
Roger Wayne does an excellent job narrating.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
