About this listen

A fresh start. A sunny beach town. One summer to rediscover her life.

**NOW A USA TODAY (August 6, 2020) BEST SELLER!**

A new beach listen series set in the beloved village of Summer Beach.

When Marina Moore’s life blows up on national television, she seeks refuge at her grandmother’s beach house called the Coral Cottage. Now in her mid-40s with children in college, Marina is in dire need of her grandmother's gutsy advice to a well-lived life. Marina meets an old friend, Ivy Bay, proprietor of the Seabreeze Inn, who encourages her to share her love of food at the local farmer’s market. Soon Marina’s sister Kai arrives on a summer break from her musical theater troupe. Together, the sisters discover new paths bound to change them forever. If only those changes didn’t require such long leaps of faith.

Jack Ventana, a newspaper writer and confirmed bachelor nomad, is on a six-month sabbatical to write his first book. The only company he wants is his inquisitive Labrador Retriever puppy, but when he receives a call from an old colleague, he finds his life altered in ways he never imagined—including the prospect of romance.

What began as a short, reclusive holiday is destined to change Marina’s life, especially when Jack’s research uncovers her grandmother Ginger’s hidden past. Join the fun in Summer Beach, where the bonds of friendship and love prove unbreakable. From the author of the best-selling Seabreeze Inn at Summer Beach book series, the Coral Cottage is a new chapter on the sunny coastline. For women's fiction listeners of Mary Kay Andrews, Elin Hilderbrand, and Mary Alice Monroe.

A really good Beach story!

This is a really good beach story, but I really liked are the characters, their relationships with each other, the caring, and of course the beach descriptions were awesome and I love the cottages. Plus the romance kept it interesting and hopeful.
I’m looking forward to continuing the story in book 2 coming right up. Hopefully you will enjoy the book as much as I have.

Good summer read

I enjoyed the book. The ending was predictable, but it was still a fun story.

Uplifting and beautifully written

I enjoyed getting to know the characters in this book. The author developed each of them well, and was consistent in their behaviors to the point I felt as though I was a fly on the wall watching the family move through life. There were many subplots that combined seamlessly to tell the story of life, particularly for one extended family, in “Summer Beach”. The descriptions of the ocean, beach, and all things beachy were sufficient to make me long for an overdue beach trip myself. This is a wholesome book with sweet romances and familial love, as well as strife, woven throughout. It was the “feel good” story I needed.

A great follow up to Sea Breeze In

Jan Moran is fast becoming one of my favorite Beach-Read Authors. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Coral Cottage” included some of the characters from “SeaBreeze Inn” as well as introducing new main characters. Erin Bennett is a talented narrator with an uncanny ability to portray the voices of men, women, and even children. I can’t wait to start the next book in this new Series.

Another great story beach cottage story

i love how these books describe communities & neighbors working together to help each other.
great narrator and these books make you feel a part of the story not just reading about someone else's life story. But best of all, each book has life lesson about acceptance or forgiveness or just having a positive attitude to situations and finding solutions to everyday problems.

Too many creative liberties to be believable

Primary issues are with the name of the town, no such town in Southern California, distances from Los Angeles and San Diego, and a water spout/tornado occurring in Southern California? No, it’s just too far fetched and made it seem ridiculous and completely unbelievable.
Also, the bonus “drink recipe” at the end..no, Blood Orange juice is not sweeter than a regular orange. It is the opposite, it’s more tart. That’s why when you order a fresh squeezed Blood Orange juice in Sicily, they add a teaspoon of sugar.
