About this listen

The game is no longer about adventures in a new world or exploring fantasy lands. Grant’s digital wife faces deletion, along with everyone else he cares for. He and those who know this is more than a game event search for clues to salvation left behind by the game's creators. Even if he finds them all, the Voices have one last task for their messenger. A sacrifice.

Fun series....

Was a little hesitant to continue after the first book. Mostly because of the narrator, but I'm glad I kept going. Narration got better and the story was a good one from the start. It's got humor, drama, love interests and nerdy rpg action. Overall, I give it 5 stars as a series.

Great ending to an awesome series.

Awesome is his father.

There is full closure in this novel, something we rarely get from authors.

Pick up the first one if you stumbled on this review of the last installment. If youve already checked out the others, why bother reading this...you know you're going to get it.

A fitting ending to a fast favorite!

This series was wonderfully enjoyable from the first novel to the last. Even though sometimes the subject matter touched on serious and even dark issues the author managed to always keep things in perspective. I like many people, have had friends who have taken their own lives. Some of us have had Family do the same and it is something that no one involved can help but have very strong feelings about. This story line takes a look at both sides of that most serious issue and hopefully shows that sometimes living despite the pain and working through your issues can have surprising results.
This is a story about love, loss, and the right to exist for any intelligence whether they were born in a traditional sense or come to be sentient in another way entirely. In this day and age it seems that A.I. Is only a matter of time, what will we do when it becomes possible to have a relationship with an entity that is purely digital? And if that comes to pass what rights will those very real intelligent beings have? Will we provide them the right to exist inherently or will they have to take them for themselves? Or like this story will they be wise enough to choose a path that guides us to provide them a way to an equal standing with humanity? I don’t know but like this series I do know one thing, it will be anything but boring!

A worthwhile conclusion to a solid VR/AI series

I gave the previous books in this series 4 stars. Good, but not great. I guess my only real issue with the series is with the protagonist who is self-consistent, but weak in some ways I find a bit inconsistent with the theme. Without any spoilers, I'll say that the author spends a great deal of time on the conclusion and pulls things together in a satisfying way. I found it a little difficult to get through a few parts of this final book, but am happy I went to the end. A good (somewhat) thought provoking book.

freaking love it!

just like the others it's amazing and fully satisfying!! I would get so excited about what would come around next I would just want to listen to it faster lol I will say at first the series, of the first book at least, starts off a little slow. But stick with it and you will be so happy you did!! Iv listened to lots of books one this type of genre, and by far this is one of my top 3! please do yourself a favour and get this book already!! I guarantee you will love it. It makes you actually feel for what goes on the way its read by the narrator and obviously the way it was written. Said my 2 cents, now get the first book and get ready for a awesome ride!!
