About this listen
“Drop the case!”
Bashed over the head and tossed overboard into the cold, dark water of a Los Angeles marina, combat veteran turned litigator Eric Ridge struggles to stay alive—and discover who is trying to kill him. And why.
No matter the answer, one thing is certain: Eric Ridge does not abandon his clients and will not drop the case. The question is, what case was his assailant yelling about? Working with his legal team—including his best friend and his computer-whiz wife—Ridge is ultimately drawn into the sinister world of the Raven Society, a secretive cabal that controls the courts by coercing or killing judges. And anyone else who gets in their way.
In a race against the clock, will Ridge and his team survive to use the evidence they've developed? Or will they suffer the same fate as others who have dared to confront The Raven Society?

Exciting Legal thriller with Aviation Authenticity
The narrator is talented. He pronounces words correctly with appropriate intonation and simulates the foreign accent of the villain "Hess."
The author does a great job with technical detail and a clever plot. This is a stand-out thriller. Readers can sense the fear in the opening event and subsequent episodes.
The flashbacks to "Eric Ridge's" military combat flying in S.E. Asia, emphasize the dedicated American combat pilots flying in S.E. Asia. They accomplish their dangerous missions despite political unrest. This is a tribute to Vietnam Veterans, juxtaposed to the media criticism of American Pilots due to both political parties' mishandling of the Vietnam War.
Suggestions for the next book, Hess engages in such repugnant wrongdoing that the reader is "grossed out" and compelled to cheer for Eric Ridge and associates. The thriller writer might develop a less obvious villain. (Someone we trust not aware of his evil mind).
The author predicts the next book's interesting character, a beautiful female lawyer named "Kachingski ($)" who worked for the defense law firm. Will she leave the dark side under the influence of the handsome Eric Ridge? Phil K.

A top-notch novel, a thriller superbly performed.
This novel is a top notch thriller, with a theme that resonates perfectly with today’s news. It is extremely well written and meticulously plotted.
The novel immediately captures your attention and keeps it. It’s plot keeps you guessing right up to the conclusion, with surprising (and believable) twists and turns.
The novel is perfect for an audio book, with a cinematic feel to its scenes.
The narrator is a gifted actor who delivers brilliantly. His talent truly animates the characters, making it a thrilling listen. As with all first class audio books, this rendition feels like an engrossing play. His voice characterizations of the large cast of the novel are spot on and make it a pleasure to enjoy this excellent novel.

Absolute Must-Listen!
After a near-fatal attack, relentless litigator and ex-veteran, Eric Ridge becomes even more determined to crack his client’s case, facing off against the powerful Raven Society in a high-stakes battle where only one will prevail.
Raymond Paul Johnson crafts an immersive thriller with compelling characters, sharp plot twists, and a gripping, well-paced narrative. While the antagonist may not be entirely unique, the intense storyline and seamless flow make for a mesmerizing read without plot holes or weak dialogue.
Narrator Nick Cracknell enhances the experience with a dynamic performance, skillfully using intonation and cadence to bring each character and action scene to life. His distinct character voices and vivid delivery make this audiobook an absolute must-listen!
If you enjoy thrillers as I do, then this is the book for you! It is a thrilling listen that immerses the listener deeply.

An exciting mystery thriller!
A mystery thriller with a timely political perspective. The action is urgent and continuous. The author has done an excellent job describing the action such that the reader/listener feels as if s/he is one with the protagonists and antagonists. Character development is a key attribute of this novel, with that of the chief protagonist Eric Ridge beautifully progressed throughout the story.
The audible narrator does a great job, using helpful voice inflection specific to each character and fitting the environment as it impacts said character.
Very enjoyable! I'm looking forward to more works from this author!
