About this listen

Aside from the political unrest in many of the stories, extra tension is evident when looked at the complicated buildup of the characters’ character, and their continuous need to develop into something more. These fantasy stories are short but powerful. They heavily focus on complex structures that deal with moral dilemmas in a world of magic, supernatural powers, and unrealistic appearances of creatures that are only fictitious to the unbeliever. Rebellion, betrayal and bravery are frequent themes in medieval settings and imaginative decors that make the tales in this anthology precious and entertaining.

Fun to listen to

The narrator really got into it at some parts, and so did I. I thought this book was worth it, because I sat back and enjoyed the stories.

And this is what you get

The dragons, heroes, the stories that unfold fast and quickly... okay, I will try to sound less poetic now, since it's not really my thing. These stories reminded me of some other epic fantasy stories I've read. Not a lot of blood. Not too heavy or serious, but definitely in the fantasy genre, all of them. Thanks for putting this together. Two thumbs up to Ashton Haugen for way getting into it and doing the voices for the characters.

Perfect

Well, maybe not perfect, but very good at least. I liked the stories in here. Typical fantasy things. Maybe some of them a bit cliche, but others were genius. So yeah, I recommend it. Especially for people who like the really really short reads (like 5,000 words each) and want to skip all the fluff like 3 paragraphs about describing a tree. The author doesn't do that. He gets straight to the point. Does that mean he leaves out some details that could have spiced up the stories a bit. Sometimes. But in my opinion, he hits the nail on the head (is that how you say it?) and provides you with optimal entertainment. All in all, I was completely satisfied.

I add my opinion

I add my opinion to these other ones, saying it is lovely to listen to books like this. I enjoyed the stories. I don't have a lot to say about them. I did have some favorites, but yeah, overall, very nice. A lot of fun.

More of this

I think there should be more of this out there. I hate those books where they never get to the point. With this, you can listen to more in less time. I mean, it's still a long book, but that's because it contains a dozen stories, all different in their own way, but I could tell from the style, that it was the same author.

Atrocious

The word that best describes this writing is atrocious. Probably the best use for these stories would be as enhanced interrogation techniques, because this writing is so bad that it feels like torture.

Maybe it was written by a five year old and published by their parents or grandparents. The simple truth is that no one should ever be subjected to this atrocious drivel.
