Publisher's summary

Katy Marks has worked hard for years to make partner at her law firm and be accepted in a man’s world. She hasn’t had much time for play. Now she has a stalker, one of the firm’s partners who hopes to entice her to gain promotion by sleeping with him. Backed into a corner, she grabs an unexpected opportunity. She wards off his unwanted advances by plastering herself against the sexy man leaning casually against the wall outside her uncle’s gym.

Rafe Wesson is stunned by one look at the sexy woman so totally out of place in the gym and finds himself flattened by his best friend and sparring partner. Scrambling to ensure he gets a chance to speak with her, he instead finds himself KO’d by a kiss that rocks his world and hardens him in all the right places.

Katy isn’t Rafe’s type. She’s far too innocent. Besides, she’s the gym owner’s niece. But two dates don’t dampen his desire or release her from his thoughts. Rafe has personal rules against sleeping with a woman before they are fully informed about his dominant ways. But Katy is testing his patience. She wants him, but he fears she won’t be as persistent when she finds out about his preferred lifestyle.

Rafe tries to step away from her, but he can’t ignore the unknown threat that stalks her, and time is running out. Someone wants Katy dead. And Rafe wants Katy...very much alive.

Painful narration of male character

The story was ok, but the awful, monotone narration of the male character made it difficult to complete. I won't be purchasing any book that has this narrator.

it was a good story

OK I loved the story kinda refreshing not to have the characters fighting all the time but couldn't stand the narrator when she spoke for the male character she sounded like a robot.

main plot Dom/sub

What did you like best about Come? What did you like least?

I liked their first meeting outside the gym, and some other parts of the book. I did not like how most of the focus was on Dom/sub and BDSM elements. I thought the stalker part should have been the main focus and Dom/sub smaller role in story.

If you’ve listened to books by Becca Jameson before, how does this one compare?

N/A

What didn’t you like about Annie Chapman’s performance?

Could not stand her "hero" voice just seemed a bit off and lacking to me.

Could you see Come being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No

Any additional comments?

IMO there was more emphasis on the BDSM Dom/sub elements than on the stalker part of the plot. Overall was ok, listened to it once and that is enough for me. Not sure if I even want to hear other books in this series. Maybe if another reader is used, and if the books are on sale. For me it was not worth the price or a credit.

Story was good but the narration needs help

I appreciate the abilities of a narrator but Rafe had the same tone and vocal variations as the Robot that is famous for saying "danger Will Robinson". The story was good and while I am intrigued about the next books, I will have to buy the paperbacks to find out where the boys in the fight club end up in their relationships.

Terrible narration

I could not listen to this for very long. The narrator's voice is irritating - too high pitched - and her "male" voice sounds like a robot. Just no. I had to stop listening and wait until I could actually just read the book for myself. The book was fine.

Just OK

This was just ok IMHO and let me tell you why. There was a plot and it seemed like it was going to be a good one. The problem is it died early. The whole danger someone's stalking her was really just a secondary to the whole hey look dominant I am plot. The stalker angle was more interesting and he really wasn't all that dominant. We never really learned enough about the stalker part and the whole climax of the story was really fake and unrealistic. Now I still gave it 3 stars because I wasn't bored to tears and didn't have a hard time finishing. However I don’t think I will be spending credits on each book in this series for such weak main plots.
Regarding the sex scenes, the first half of the book is all about their personal masturbation sessions since they aren't with each other. So, yeah...not good there....Then, for the latter half of the book, well they explore different sex scenes and scenarios both at home and at this sex club (which incidentally the whole fight club belongs to...OMG). Yeah, there were parts where I thought my face was turning 50 shades of red.....seriously embarrassing...Uh, I'm not sure how I feel about this series....it seems like it will be about DOM/MMA Fighters falling in love with vanilla women and turning them on to their lifestyle. Um, I think that's succinct enough, as an explanation....LOL
The narrator was a bit lack luster and boring with the delivery of the story. I won't use a credit on the next in the series but i may buy if the book is under $5.

Probably better reading than listening

Who was your favorite character and why?

I would really like to hear Mason's story. The small prelude that was provided for Mason and Jenna peaked my curiosity. Unfortunately, I don't have any desire to do that any time soon with this narrator.

How could the performance have been better?

The performance was pretty flat for the male characters. I would suggest that this narrator stick with female dominated stories, or always be paired with a male narrator. It appears that the voice shift is all she can accomplish. Her male voice was always in the same tone and flat with no inflection.

Any additional comments?

The description for this book is a bit misleading. There was very little fighting, very little detail regarding MMA. These characters had more important scenes at a sex club than at the gym where the couple fights were held. It was definitely more BDSM than MMA.

With that being said, I liked the characters and the story for the most part. The narrator really made it difficult to enjoy. I found myself imagining the story in my own head just to figure out if the emotion behind a scene was believable.
