Amy and Swift

This book read like a long epilogue to Comanche Moon. While I enjoyed getting the story of Swift and Amy some of the trauma Amy had to endure was hard to read. This book was well written from the perspective of dealing gently with PTSD and how one can overcome trauma and find happiness again.

Narration Better - Easy Listening Book

I thought that Comanche Heart was good. Not quite as good as Comanche Moon (the first of these two books) but it wasn't bad. But the narration by Ruth Ann Phimister was MUCH better than her narration of CM, making this book more enjoyable for listening, which is why both books get a 4 star rating.
It really helps to read Moon first to get a better understanding of the background of Amy, Swift, and even of Loretta and Hunter, but it can be read (or listened) as a stand-alone.
I thought the story was a little slow and could have used a little more action. I also thought Amy could have accepted Swift a little sooner, but over all, it's a nice story when you don't want to put a lot of effort in to a book.

A romance with a plausible story

What did you like best about this story?

Relatable characters with imperfections, not a totally outlandish storyline.

Who was the most memorable character of Comanche Heart and why?

Swift- A man with flaws and strong characteristics, yet a tender heart full of masculine love.

Awesome story

One needs to read Commanche Moon to feel the heart in this story. The author brought tears to my eyes with her deep knowledge of one who has been violated multiple times. Done with heart and style, I think catherine captured the emotional dwellings Amy suffered.

I Hope Catherine takes this a step futher and portrays the daughter who is half breed and what it was like back in the day growing up. I think she will be able to write it well.

Swift Antelope and Amy Masters

*****SPOILER ALERT*****

Comanche Heart by Catherine Anderson. Book 2 in the Comanche series. Audible Premium Plus borrow. Dual POV. Slow burn bi-racial (Comanche MMC/white FMC) second chance romance. Narrated by Ruth Ann Phimister. The audiobook does not follow the book's chapter breaks. This was a compelling, action filled story. Content warnings: kidnapping; gang r@pe and attempted r@pe; murders; native American/settler conflict; h's father lied to H; domestic violence, child abuse.

Date: 1876 - 1879

In the prologue, Swift Antelope (16, 31; aka Swift Lopez) scarred the right of his face when he was told Amy died 5 years ago. Swift then continues to travel with a group of Comancheros for three years. He's a much storied quick draw and looking for peace when he sees Amy. Amelia Rose Masters (12, 27; aka Amy) fell for Swift 15 years ago and waited for him to return to her for 7 long years. When Amy could no longer suffer Henry's abuse, she ran to her cousin. For 8 years, she's been protected and was able to regain the confidence she needed to survive her past. When Swift arrives, her neat, orderly life as a school teacher is threatened. In the end, they are engaged, hoping to marry soon. As their story unfolds, I got a peek into the hardships of their life, racism of the time, and the small town judgment they faced. JP

Lovely Love Story

There is a lot of pain and suffering in this book, but Swift is such a patient man and wonderful lover. I love that Amy was alive for him even though she hated him at first. And I was so proud of Indigo. Maybe there is another book coming to tell her story. I love that the love scenes in Catherine Anderson’s books are enough to spark the imagination but are not overt and in your face. Sometimes I wish I could peek into the bedroom to see just a little bit more.

A Captivating novel

this novel is the 2nd in the Comanche series and it did not disappoint. captivating spellbound love story that still followed the lives of lorretta and her love Hunter and her cousin Amy and her love Swift. I couldn't put it down.
