About this listen

For listeners of The MAGA Diaries and Hate in the Homeland, an eye-opening and crucial true story of one man risking his life to infiltrate the most dangerous neo-Nazi group in the United States.

When Scott Payne was growing up, he never envisioned a future that included what happened on Halloween night 2019. Out in the woods of Georgia, he tried desperately to save a goat from being sacrificed in a ritual by a group of neo-Nazis without revealing that he was actually an undercover agent.

Now, this retired FBI agent reveals how and why he infiltrated the rapidly growing American Nazi group, The Base. Known as the “Hillbilly Donnie Brasco,” Payne was guided through some of the most terrifying and risky assignments in the FBI’s history by his devotion to his family and his Christian faith.

Timely and engaging, Code Name: Pale Horse is an unflinching look at one of biggest threats in national security, as well as an inspiring memoir from an American hero.

Must read if you like L.E true stories.

I heard Scott’s story on Joe Rogan a few days ago. I have a few Audible credits I’ll never use, I’m glad I found this book. Loved it, loved the true stories. What’s nice is Scott doesn’t try to make it sound like he’s the hero throughout the entire story.

Gripping from start to finish.

Awesome book, thank you Scott for what you do and the people that follow in your footsteps.
Highly recommended it really opened my eyes to real hatred and groups that are far worse than those who just differ on political opinions. God bless these agents and all those that spend their lives protecting ours. Scott’s voice is an easy listen as well!

A fascinating look in to the world of undercover work

When I heard Scott's book mentioned on his Jordan Harbinger podcast I knew I had to get the full length version of the stories he mentioned during the interview and the book doesn't disappoint! It's a wild ride and by the end one can only be glad that Scott made it through okay and that there are men and women working to fight the threats posed by these violent groups.

I can't get enough and want more

what an amazing story that I feel like could have been a series of books with more detail and more stories filling in the gaps etc. however it was extremely good eye opening and can't imagine having a job like that what an experience!

An amazing human being

Hearing this story from Scott himself is powerful and beautiful hearing how someone so brave and humble did amazing work, maintained his faith, and balanced his family life. We need more Scott's in the world.

FBI Undercover ROCKS

Scott Payne , thank you for sharing your stories! Thank you to all the agents who risk their safety and their lives everyday to protect all us Joe/Jane Americans who have no idea what evil is out there. I heard about this book on the FBI Retired podcast with Jerri Williams. Fabulous podcast!

Modern day James Bond

I loved this from start to finish. Heard your interview on Joe Rogan and had to hear the rest of the story. As a guy who’s been convicted of three felonies staying on the straight and narrow for 18+ years, it’s really cool to see this side of the line. I hope people take the lesson from this and stay positive and steer away from hate. I robbed myself of a bright future and times are tough. Don’t give yourself a disadvantage like me or any of these individuals. I hope some day can find peace with the people you befriended that have strayed away during this whole process. Thank you so much for sharing your story Scott!
