Informative and thorough. A must read

An informative and thorough review of the current science and information on climate change. An important read for all to understand not only the details of climate change causes and impact, but also to be able to effectively advocate for climate change action.

Great Book on Climate Change

Romm knows climate change as well as anyone, and presents it in a very thorough, well thought out manner. He is scientifically accurate, but nteresting. My only technical complaint is his slighting the drawdown capabilities of regenerative agriculture. But there is a paucity of peer-reviewed literature on that, so it is understandable. The reader could be a lot better. He spits out his words, and sounds amateurish. Even so, this is a great book, thanks to Romm.

Is humanity doomed?

Can humans overcome their arrogance, stupidity and ignorance to save society? Joseph Romm has shown us that we can in this book.

Religious not scientific claims and preachings

This book is more like a commercial and advocacy for massive and comprehensively unproven interventions to rule Mother Nature. Very early in the book the narrator honestly (a trait rarely on display throughout the preponderance of unsupported assertions otherwise made from beginning to end) states he will not be reciting the fundamental scientific evidence for his case. He instead will/does jump right to the mantric claims of consensus conclusions. After all the anointed and so professed Devine scientist can ease our dreadful burden. He can spare us the tool of thought by amassing the basilar data and evidence and then he graciously will think for us the reader or polity. The material is to complex for us any way - and they should know because the climate alarmist have been so perfectly and impressively wrong about every prediction they have thus far made.

The book would be laughable if not concomitantly so dangerous. It preaches religious tenets to the mind numb masses employing sophomoric sophistry and intensional deceit. Grand assertion and pious warnings of literal hell on earth are reiterated. Do as your told it’s a moral imperative and only your servility to the god of statism can deny the capitalist oil devil from establishing hell on earth.

Terrible robotic reading

I had a hard time making out what the author was trying to convey because of the monotone and robotic style of reading. I honestly wonder if they used a computer voice for this.

Data dump read by bot

One of the worst narrators ever - he read in a staccato robot voice. Some lines were laughable. If he'd just read smoothly he would be fine.

The book was ok. It was a data dump though, and I felt like the author was debating someone on whether or not climate change would have negative effects. Rather than focus on the objective scientific research, he constantly told us every possible doomsday scenario. This makes sense when talking to policy makers, but I just wanted to learn. I constantly got the feeling that I wasn't getting the whole story. A lot of it was "A 2011 study has shown..." Well, all sorts of studies show all sorts of things, and I need to understand them a bit more, not just have them quoted at me. How was the study done? What is the degree of error? What are the opposing views to that study? Who funded it?

The late part of the book on alternative energies was quite interesting.

I don't think he dealt very well with climate skeptics/deniers. In the earlier part of the book he simply argued that they should be called deniers. In the end of the book he deals with their 'arguments', but does no more than list their bullet point claims and then 'debunks' them. It felt like a high school debate.

Good content

The content was good but the narration sounded like an automated reader, weird pauses and inflections made it harder to get the content.
