Michael prichard doesn't or can't change the voices for the different characters. this makes it hard to follow who's who and what is going on. the story itself is great though.

Michael prichard doesn't do different voices

Would you listen to Clear and Present Danger again? Why?

Yes and the reason is, it is so detailed there are so many things you can miss the first time through.

What did you like best about this story?

In the Jack Ryan series I always likeJack Ryan, but I also liked Mr.Clark and Mr. Chavez. the parts they play are very intense.

Have you listened to any of Michael Prichard’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, Much the same. He is a very fitting narrator for the Jack Ryan series.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the helicopter landed on the small boat out in the middle of the ocean during the hurricane to bring the surviving men to safety.

Any additional comments?

I always enjoy the Tom Clancy books and especially the Jack Ryan series. I just really enjoy his personality.

A real Tom Clancy book not a knock off by a endless number of copy cat ghost writers.
Read by , Michaer Prichard and as far as I am concerned he is a master reader.
This is what audible is all about.
Worth the credit any day of the week

Great book

I read this book years ago shortly after it came out. I had forgotten how outraged I was when the movie had come out. The hatchet job the movie did to this book just reignited my hatred of Hollywood even more. I’m rereading/listening the Jack Ryan books in chronological order, so it’s off to Sum of All Fears. Another hatchet job done by Hollywood. I can wholeheartedly recommend this book. Michael Prichard is excellent and breathes life into this American classic.

My very favorite Clancy narrator. Not too fast, not sleepy, not overboard with goofy voices. I highly recommend this one.

Great Read

This book introduced Chavez. A character I have grown to enjoy in the series. The DDO is very different from the movie.

Much better than the movie

The capstone of the book with Zimmer really hits home - excellent story, well narrated, and as good as the first time I read it.

Another TC novel done right by Audible

Would you listen to Clear and Present Danger again? Why?

The story is very good and the premise of the novel is feasible. I like where the book went, and the development of the characters was great. If I could go back in time I would buy this book again for sure.

What other book might you compare Clear and Present Danger to and why?

This book is in line with any of Clancy's other books.

What aspect of Michael Prichard’s performance would you have changed?

Michael Prichard is not good at narration. I wish he didn't narrate several books in the series. I don't even know how he got the job actually. Lou Diamond Phillips is way better than Prichard. Roy Dotrice is the gold standard and Prichard is like a block of lead. He is slow, most of his characters sound the same, and he's slow. I have to listen to him at 1.25 speed just to tolerate him.

Any additional comments?

Great book, I recommend it. Prichard is horrible, but the story carries the book.

Great story bogged down with techy details

I know most books are better than their movie adaptations, but this movie not only left parts out (mostly action scenes!) but it changed much of the story / plot line as well. If the movie bored you (like it did me), don't worry. The book follows / involves Ding and Clark much more than Ryan, and where those two go, action follows and bad guys die.

Way better than the movie
