Editorial reviews

Prolific children’s entertainer Peter Cook blends storytelling and song, as he lends his versatile voice to these four fairytales, each beloved and timeless. The Aussie actor and musician delivers singsong send ups of "Little Red Riding Hood", "Jack and the Beanstalk", "Goldilocks and the Three Bears", and "The Three Little Pigs". Cooke playfully personifies wicked wolves, bewildered bears, and plaintive pigs, his animated and energetic acting sure to capture the attention and imagination of young listeners. Likewise, his rangy role playing ensures that children will be able to easily identify different characters and follow the stories’ plots. Cooke intersperses the proceedings with musical renditions of these famous fairytales, with each song offering rich arrangements and memorable melodies, encouraging young listeners to sing along.

Critic reviews

"This is an opportunity to hear much loved story-teller and singer, Peter Combe, read four classic fairy tales, Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and the Three Little Pigs. He follows the reading of each story by singing the song version. A good collection for young Australians, by an Australian." (Reading Time)

Absolutely Fantastic!!

My four year old son is a huge fan!! Ever since I downloaded this for him he has listened to it almost non-stop. I watched him this weekend sitting quietly in his room listening to the stories and doing puzzles on the floor. He was completely engaged. And as a parent, I have to say I thoroughly enjoy the stories and songs. What a treat!

Incredibly Australian

Meh. Audio levels are pretty inconsistant. Kind of annoying having the narrator scream into the mic then talk quietly. Most voices sound like something out of Monty Python especially women characters, which I thoight was ridiculous. The songs are ok.
