About this listen

One night. No names. No commitment. That was our agreement.

But Spencer Lancaster was addictive.

And I was high.

High off his taste, starved for his kiss, and desperate for his touch.

So when he asked me to stay, to enjoy his company for more nights than I knew I should, I wasn't in the right mind to say no.

Everything was perfect. A dream come true. But half a world away, there were secrets. Lies. Insecurities.

All of the truths that could tear us apart.

Incredibly unlikable male lead

The performances were good. The story had several interesting themes and lines.....but....Spencer, the male lead, is immature, childish, petulant, rigid and impossible to like. By the end of the story I was hoping against hope that Olivia would emerge from her problems and toss Spencer to the curb. But no, it's a fairy tale ending, Olivia gets the man she wants, not the man she deserves, because no one deserves the class A a@@hole that is Spencer Lancaster.

Intense storyline, and also lighter later on...

Any additional comments?

I really liked this book for its content--starting intense, but lightening somewhat during the story. The story line did not bother me personally, but I would have expected a trigger warning for heavy drug use. I have never read/listened to this author, but will in the future. Also, I had not experienced the work of both narrators, Lia Langola and Aaron Shedlock, although both were previously recommended to me by others. I would definitely recommend them both for their voice work and will seek more books performed by them in the future.

Absolutely Enjoyable

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. So glad I asked for this book. It didn't go the way I thought it was going to go. It could not be predicted as so many can. Olivia and Spencer were a complicated couple. They both had their complicated side and their secrets. Loved the way Olivia and Spencer met. Loved how the story developed. The narrators did a wonderful job with the characters and the story. They were able to bring out the personalities of the characters and the depth of the story. Excellent!!!

It was alright...

Meh... the male narrator was pretty good, female didn’t really do it for me. Also, I didn’t feel like Olivia had anything special to her.. I won’t hate on Ava Harrison and I’ll try some of her other stories, this one just didn’t do it for me.

The Ending made it for me

So I loved the last 1/4 of the book. I didn’t feel the connection at all in the beginning, but knowing there are two other books for this family I hung in there and I’m glad I did. There were enough unanswered questions that I will likely have to know the the other two brothers stories because I’m a sucker like that. Not a fan of Lia Langola in this book but it might have been the whiny character she voiced more than her performance. Aaron Sherlock represented his character perfect as usual also. Not a bad read.

Definitely worth the credit! 🔥

Spencer and Olivia have a one night stand. No names. No commitments. Just one night. They run into each other unexpectedly later on and decide to have. 2 week fling while traveling Europe after which they will part ways, no strings attached. But the more time Olivia spends with Spencer the more he unknowingly begins to make his way into her already fragile heart. Spencer has everything: good looks, wealth, and power. But he also has his own trust issues and family problems to deal with. And quickly what started out as a fling spirals into so much more.

Exquisite writing and fantasy characters suck you into the story from beginning to end. It’s a story of power, trust, acceptance, and love with a plenty on passion mixed in. Ava Harrison isn’t afraid to tackle difficult subjects like addiction and interlace them into a beautifully written story while dishing out plenty of steam.

Narration by Lia Langola and Aaron Shedlock was a pairing I hadn’t yet come across, but really enjoyed. Lia does excellent work of bringing out all of Olivia’s emotions and making the listener feel them too. Aaron Shedlock was the perfect Spencer. He perfectly voices the broody CEO while giving life to all the facets of the character. His performance was nothing short of awesome and I loved every minute of. Clandestine is absolutely worth the credit. 5 stars.

I hate these characters.

The narrorators are great but I strongly dislike the female in this story. I am about halfway in and nothing even remotely exciting has happened which is making me more irritated by this woman. I wouldn't recommend using a credit on this.

What a book!

This book pulled me in from the very beginning with the one night of passion without names. The story was unpredictable and original. The narration was outstanding. I have listened to both narrators before and thought they were excellent together. Lia Langola did such an awesome job with Olivia's feelings and insecurities, while Aaron Shedlock was the perfect brooding CEO Spencer. The narrators brought the chemistry to a believable level. I thought that Ava Harrison wrote about addiction in a straight forward way that did not glamorize it at all. I also liked how she included the deep trust issues in the book. Definitely worth a credit.

Weak...very weak and sappy

This story addresses some very deep and difficult issues but misleads readers into believing addiction is due to things that happen to the addict that CAUSE them to turn to drugs---to imply that her father's abandoning her was the cause?????? No, that's not fair ....and then to imply that the addict has to go to a VERY expensive rehab that 99% of addicts can't afford for four weeks and it's all good? Definitely not how it works, People.....not how it works at all. Another question.....How many models have insecurity issues?? Perhaps it doesn't help much that the overly dramatic narration by Lia Longola makes Olivia sound whiny and weak. Her male interpretation was better than her female. lol Aaron Shedlock isn't used enough. His character is very young (32) to be running a company worth and the second Olivia purrs at him, he ignores his business....then he encourages her to start a modeling agency when all she has is 2 yrs experience as a model. No business experience whatsoever. Again.....not how it works, People, not how it works at all.

Last but not least.....what does Clandestine have to do with the story????

New author

This author is new to me. I chose this story because I love Aaron Shedlock. I love his voice when he reads the story. He made it so much better. Miss Lia was excellent too. Both did excellent job by bringing the characters to life. This story does contain real life issues and I was hesitant before going into it. I'm glad I gave it a chance. If you want to give this story a chance, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
