"These stories enable children to travel around the world and through time with literature....great for the history buff." (Diane M. Huot, Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute)

Interesting storyline...loved the ending.

Author did a great job presenting information about the war in a simplistic way that children would understand, although there was some erroneous info in the begging regarding the cause of the war. The inclusion of Black Confederate soldiers would have created a more truthful and balanced storyline but overall, good book.
