Fitting conclusion to the series.

*I was given this free review copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I'm glad Jake Urry stayed with the series from the beginning. Jake has given voice to the characters since the beginning with Stagger. Many would think the book should have switched to a female narrator because this is a female character. But I think Jake is perfect for the book as he's given voice and feeling to the characters since the first book. This holds the characters personality true to them throughout the series and as they grow. Well done, and thank you for staying with the series!

Aaaah. The first chapter sets the stage for what's been talked about by Black Swan in previous books. The Dragon Apocalypse. Black Swan has been trying to stop this since the very beginning. Things are coming to a close end, and it seems like this is Black Swan's last chance to save the world. In her scurrying to stop the end, she ends up in an unintentional place and has to make it work.

We start in different realms and parts of the world with our characters. It's interesting to get the feel how life is strained in all areas as we see to each group.

One thing I felt in the previous two books was there were threads that felt unfinished. Sure, the story of that book felt to come to a close but there were things in the world that felt as though I was confused about or unfinished. This book takes those threads and ties them up. I really enjoyed how this story pulls many things together from the One True Book and where people have ended up in the world with their feelings.

I was drawn to the different parts of the world with our characters. We are in Hell with the Romers and a few others. We see where Infidel had gone and get to meet her daughter, Cinder, at the age of 19. And to see Black Swan as she lives through another future and returns to stop the future from happening.

There are inner revelations for the characters in this book. Each character has lived through much and this book feels to bring them to a peace (in a sort) with all that's happened and who they've become. This is very well done with each character. I felt closer to them here than I have in a long time.

Cinder's story is an interesting one as it leads to things I didn't expect, but totally make sense to me. This story fills gaps I felt when one character knew much of others. This brings the story full circle and completes the gaps. I should have expected this as it makes perfect sense.

This was an awesome series wrap-up. It concluded all the characters we've adventured with along with how things will be in the world. Totally worth listening/reading!!

Thrilling Conclusion to Dragon Apocalypse Series

James Maxey does an excellent job with his conclusion to the Dragon Apocalypse series. He wrapped up all the outstanding storylines, and did so in a very thrilling way. I flew through this book, not wanting to pause once. Almost all of the previous characters are back, there’s a ton of action, and several very surprising plot twists. Jake Urry’s narration is excellent as always, giving all the characters their distinct and awesome voices. Ultimately, this book incredibly enjoyable. I highly recommend listening to the whole series.

Big reveal

Book four and conclusion to the Dragon Apocalypse. The world is in terrible danger, and our friends have been trapped in Hell for the past twenty years, frozen in time. Life has gone on and things are changed in the world. Infidel is back in this book, and Stagger too, briefly but satisfyingly. The complex world-building Maxey has created at last has a conclusion here. It is rewarding to see how everything gets tied together in the end, and how many of the events in the previous books were just laying the foundation for this one. A lot of preparation and planning has gone to climax in this last book, and in hindsight, it could not have been any other way.

Like book three, this is again different from books one and two, but this time the story is centered around a new character. There is plenty of mythology already seen in previous books, but there is a lot more of it in this one. Many of the mysteries are explained, and there is a big reveal towards the middle of the story. Many of the events and stories from previous books will not make sense until this reveal, and when this is reached everything will fall into place.

Even though this book is centered on the figure of Cinder, all characters in previous books appear again, as each one contributes to the final outcome. There are heartbreaking moments, but also redeeming and glorious ones. The world will never be the same after this final book.

Jake Urry did again an excellent job narrating the story and voicing the characters. This was a difficult book as all characters from previous books make an appearance here, and keeping things consistent is not an easy feat. Urry also transmitted their emotions, bringing them to life in such a way that they will stay with the listener for a long time.

This has been one of the best fantasy series I have read in a long time. I absolutely recommend it to anyone into fantasy and complex stories with great world-building. You will be changed after listening to the complete tale.

Truly Epic Conclusion

disclaimer: I was given a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review

If you've been reading along in the Dragon Apocalypse, then you're coming in on a cliffhanger. The heroes have been trapped in Hell for twenty years and the Dragon Apocalypse is well under way.

The first chapter starts with the end of the world and everything gets crazier from there.

Maxey continues his story with unexpected thrills, original powers and battles. The book churns through a lot of plot but he still manages to weave it together with strong character development, his trademark wit and philosophical discussions without ever getting weighed down.

Whatever you think is coming, I guarantee you will not guess some of the twists, turns, betrayals and how everything is tie together. There are callbacks to each of the three prior books but enough is explained that you don't have to have recently re-read them to make sense of what's going on - although I wouldn't blame you if you did just for the fun of the adventure.

It's hard to discuss much of the plot or even the main character without major spoilers so let me leave you with this - everything has been building to this. Mysteries are revealed, a take-your-breath away climax and not everyone is making it out of this book alive. If you've enjoyed the first 3 books then 4 is a worthy conclusion.

Awesome Conclusion

Lately I have heard some great British narrator's, this narrator can be included in that group. his performance was outstanding.
This final story in the series revolves around Cinder, Stagger and Infidels daughter. Yet, all previous characters come together to fight to stop the end of their world. I love when previous characters are brought into current storyline.
Intense action has you captivated til the end. What an end, some bittersweet, some justified and some great new beginnings. And Wow, Black Swan, what a surprise!.
