About this listen

Asphalt was his home as Jensen Grimes tallied miles on his Indian motorcycle to escape from a dangerous life that was too much to bear. Never in his wildest dreams had he fathomed the motorcycle club, Chrome Poppies, would turn into a bloodbath. He was running from them and running from the law, after the body count escalated to exorbitant levels.

When Jensen makes it to a small mountain town in central California, he thought he was in the clear until a precocious young girl, Emilie Dillon, begging for money appears in his life. As much as he wanted to cast her aside, there was something that intrigued him only to learn this child was on the run, too. She was an orphaned eight-year-old girl whose family was slaughtered one fateful night.

Though this put a crutch in his escape plans, Jensen couldn’t leave the girl stranded and offered to protect her, only to find out they were meant to find one another.

Will Jensen sacrifice and surrender himself when he agreed to be a guardian to Emilie? Or is this a well-laid trap set up by the Chrome Poppies MC to lure him?

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I was hooked from the beginning. I was enthralled by the characters. It will have you on the edge of your seat, then have you laughing (there might have been a few tears too). Jenson is a kind hearted soul. And Emily was very sweet and resourceful. Overall the book was a great read/listen. Aaron Smith performed very good, understandable, great inflection. The story was action pact. I will definitely be looking out for more books from Cerise Rose.

okay now this was really good, undercover cop, bad MC leader that's out of control, angles fighting to keep a child alive, plus one sassy little girl that get very attached to her angle. idk but you guys have to listen to this book because it is really good, and the narrator did a really good job too.
