About this listen

Award-winning journalist Julie Carobini is a fresh voice in Christian fiction. Her debut novel whisks listeners away to California's sunny coast, where carefree Brianna Stone's idyllic life is complicated by her bizarre new boss, her meddling mother-in-law, and her too-busy-to-believe husband.

Married for 14 years to a handsome attorney, Bri fears her flip-flops and microwave cuisine no longer capture her husband's heart. His long hours working at the office leave little or no time for her. So like a chocoholic frantic for Hershey bars, Bri races to reinvent herself with a dazzling wardrobe, a flattering hairstyle, and much more. And when she spies her husband driving a convertible with his gorgeous business associate - while he's "working at the office" - she redoubles her efforts.

Yep! That about sums it up..Christian Fiction had me praying to God it would end...the story is boring. The author tries to throw in God, Country Music and Scripture but the plot is BORING! BORING! BORING!

The narrator sounded like an 85 year old who had been a chain smoker since birth. The story had merit, but the authors attempts on sarcasm was too much and with an over aged narrator reading it, made me cringe. The raspy voice was too much of a distraction.
