About this listen
Victor Standish: Urban legend, abandoned child, mocker of monsters:
“I learned to walk on cat-feet by living on the streets of too many hard cities for six years...since I was seven. I know why dogs howl at the dark and why cats prick up their ears after midnight.
All too often I hear the beating of black wings and the scratching of half-seen shapes on the pavement hidden by shadow. I have always known I am an outsider, a stranger no matter where I roam among those who are still men.
There are horrors beyond life's edge that most don’t suspect, and once in a while a wandering stray calls them just within range. And yes, all too often I am that stray".
Follow Victor as he scurries down the garbage-strewn streets of a lifeless Detroit, hiding from and fighting against the hungry dead reanimated by his strange mother.
Watch him fight for his life in a ramshackle New York country estate against the alien spawn who fell from the stars a century ago.
See Victor contend against nightmares in a carnival of the damned - meet with him:
- Princess Shert Nebti, the living mummy child
- Shiver Phoenix, the enticing girl who hides a terrible secret under the black glove she never removes
- Azizza, the Snake Woman out of Time
- Simba, the caged panther whose dying brings freedom
- And Madera, the mysterious Fortune Teller whose trailer holds death and life.
Start the road to Legend in Carnival of the Damned, book zero in The Legend of Victor Standish.

Story
I was 12-years-old when the world ended. For eight years I've survived in this sh*thole once known as Earth, fighting the alien parasite that mutated most of the population into bloodthirsty freaks while the rest of us became the lunch special on their alien menu. Now things are changing, and not for the better. The parasite is evolving, becoming smarter, stronger, and deadlier. They've already stolen everything from me - my home, my family, even the man I loved. It's time for this bullsh*t to end once and for all.

Story
Some call it purgatory, others know it as the in-between, but for those poor souls who are trapped there eternally it is simply: The Carnival - macabre mockery where night is never-ending, and a sadistic creature known as the Fool rules with an iron fist. And the Fool has one rule: No one leaves the Carnival. Ever. Christopher, the latest arrival thrust reluctantly through the gates, is certain that he doesn't belong there, and he's damn sure he's not going to be staying. To have any chance of escaping, he must confront not only the Fool, but his own dark past.

Story
You think you've got some bad date stories? My last date ended with me almost being sacrificed to a Hawaiian war god. Then I found out that all the gods are real. Only they aren't really gods, they're Atlanteans. Yep, that Atlantis. They screwed up their perfect island (and sank it) then had the nerve to move in on our territory. As if that wasn't bad enough, they told us normal humans that they were gods. And we believed them.

In this unique YA anthology, 13 acclaimed, best-selling authors team up with 13 influential BookTubers to reimagine fairy tales from the oft-misunderstood villains' points of view. These fractured, unconventional spins on classics like Medusa, Sherlock Holmes, and 'Jack and the Beanstalk' provide a behind-the-curtain look at villains' acts of vengeance, defiance, and rage - and the pain, heartbreak, and sorrow that spurned them on. No fairy tale will ever seem quite the same again!

An experience like no other!
Roland Yeomans has created an engagingly creepy tale featuring young Victor--a 13 year old navigating the streets of Detroit...but not like any Detroit you're familiar with.
Excellent writing by Yeomans and equally-good narration by Francene Lockett.
