Francesca Amaro moves back to her hometown of Cape Bay, Massachusetts, and takes over the family business, Antonia's Italian Cafe. She spends her days making delicious artisan cappuccinos - until she stumbles upon her neighbor's dead body. When the police discover Mr. Cardosi was poisoned, Francesca becomes a suspect. The victim's son, Matty, happens to be Francesca's old high school friend. Together they uncover the secrets of the locals in order to find the killer in their idyllic beach town.

Star Rating: 37.⅝ = 4.68
Here’s Why
Characters: 3.5/5 - I enjoyed our characters, I just wanted a bit more from them. It felt like we were just scratching the surface - any maybe that’s because this was only book 1 but I needed a bit more enticement.
Atmosphere/Setting: 5/5 - I loved the setting of Cape Bay (although on audiobook, I thought the narrator said Cape May - so I had a very distinct image in my head.)
Writing Style: 4/5 - I enjoyed Lin’s writing style, I just wanted to go more in depth.
Plot: 5/5 - Simple yet effective plot.
Intrigue: 5/5 - I had more intrigue than I thought I would - on a lot of different layers.
Logic: 5/5 - It all made logical sense to me; I was just along for the ride.
Enjoyment: 5/5 - I enjoyed this read a lot, just wanted more - as I’ve stated before.
Audiobook Narrator: 5/5 Marguerite Gavin did a great job narrating this book. Her pace was even and easy to follow. Her intonations were great and I was able to distinguish the differences in the characters she read.
I thought this was a cute cozy mystery.
