Publisher's summary

A horrific double murder in small-town Iowa leads to the arrest and trial of the young man who owned the murder weapon.

Tony Harrington, a reporter for the local daily paper, doesn't believe the man is guilty. His search for the truth sparks a chain of events with tragic consequences. Undaunted, Tony pushes on, risking everything to uncover the facts - the story's true "lede". But even Tony can't imagine the magnitude of the evil he's facing or the true purpose behind the crimes that have besieged this quiet Iowa town.

This novel has it all: mystery, courtroom drama, romance, action, tragedy, villains, and heroes. Throughout the book, LeValley draws on his real-life experiences as a newspaper reporter to create a compelling story of crime, criminal justice, politics, and journalism.

Intriguing mystery by promising new author

Well-written and effectively narrated tale of a murder in small town Iowa that was not what it seemed. A young reporter becomes part of the story as he follows his instinct & clues. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the audiobook as I had already read a hard copy. Excited that this is first in a series and impatiently waiting for future books. Highly recommended by this former small town Iowa girl

Could not put this one down!

This is a page turner! Small town Iowa…but could happen anywhere! The characters are well rounded, everyone with purpose. Not a lot of fluff in this at all….every page lends itself to the story. Can’t wait to read the authors other books!

I couldn't stop listening!

I loved the audio version of Burying the Lede! The powerful, fast-paced, and entertaining novel was made even more exciting by the narrator’s skill to bring the story and main character Tony Harrington to life. The author’s knowledge of the workings of the newsroom and the courtroom kept me absorbed to the shocking conclusion. Can’t wait for the audio version of the second Tony Harrington novel, Cry from an Unknown Grave.
